How To Remove Fake Nails
We all know that if we keep nails on long enough they will fall off on their own accord but not at the same time and the half on style is not the look we are going for!
So the best way to remove is by using acetone.
You will need pure acetone and you simply pour into a clean bowl then soak your nails in it for several minutes. You can use a cotton wool pad to gently wipe the nail from cuticles the tip. This may need several goes until the false nails completely soak off.
You can also remove without using acetone for a more natural removal.
For this, instead of using harsh chemicals you simply fill a bowl of warm soapy water. Nails will need to be soaked for at least 20 minutes or until the glue begins to fill soft. As above, you can gently wipe them and they will soak off.

Different Types Of Artificial Nails
While there are many types of artificial nails available in the market, lets take a look at the most common ones:
- Porcelain Nails
These false nails are made of fiberglass. They are expensive as the installation costs are high, so is the aftercare. We recommend you go to a nail salon and have them applied by a professional.
These nails use gel-based polish and require a UV or LED light to dry the polish and lock it into your nails. Gel nails are sturdy and last for close to two weeks.
SNS stands for Signature Nail Systems and operates on a powder-dipping system. It is accompanied by a brush-on or gel polish. The nail professional will apply the polish to your nails, dip in powder, and repeat the process.
Simply put, nail wraps are stickers for your nails. Nails wraps are made of materials like silk, linen, fiberglass, and thin paper. They come with acrylic or gels so they can be used on your real nails and also artificial nails. As they do not have a semi-permanent hold like artificial or fake nails, they are less likely to damage your real nails.

Cons Of Press On Nails
The main issue with Press on Nails is that they are not as durable as acrylic or gel extensions which means that they wont last as long.
And if you dont put them on correctly, like if you dont clean your nails before applying them, your press on nails can pop off prematurely.
Now if applied correctly Press on Nails can easily last you for around 2 weeks. I have an entire article where I share tips on How to Make Press on Nails Last Longer, you can click here to read it.
But you should only wear Press on Nails for 2-3 days to prevent an infection from occurring. You can take them off then disinfect your nails and the press-on and reapply.

How To Apply Fake Nails
Fake nails look fabulous and can complete a look, but they have to apply correctly, particularly if you want them to last.
First, wash hands, and file your own nails, pushing cuticles back. Always make sure any remnants of old polish on your natural nails are removed too!
Make sure nails are completely dry, ensuring the nail is free from any excess moisture or oils.
Select the correct size false nail which best fits your natural nail. This can be done without putting any glue on, simply place a nail on the top and see how it looks. Once you’ve corrected the right size line the nails out in front of you, from thumb to little finger on the left and right.
Apply glue to the back of the false nail, and you can even add a small amount onto your own nail. Give even distribution across then press the false nail on.
Align with cuticle, gently press on and hold for at least 5 seconds going up to 20.

Difference Between Gel Extensions & Acrylic Nails
The main difference between Acrylic and Gel Extension is that they use very different ingredients and are cured differently.
Acrylic Application uses a polymer powder and is cured or hardened using a liquid monomer. Whilst Gel Extensions use a thick UV gel that needs either a UV or a Led lamp to cure.
But Gel Extensions and Acrylic Nails are applied similarly in that, they are built out from your natural nails and are extended using either tips or forms.

Beauty Lookshow To Safely Remove Acrylic Nails At Home
DIY nail removal is an easy way to save some time and some coins.
Theres no denying that trying creative and fun nail designs is one of our favorite beauty indulgences, but when youre doing it with acrylic nails there can be some challenges. For that same reason, theyre not exactly the easiest to remove on your own once youre ready for your next beauty look . You definitely cant just rip them off youll regret it if you try. And trying to slip a Metrocard or thin plastic sheet under the acrylic to pop it off is an absolute no-no.
You can head to the salon and have a nail technician remove your acrylics then redo your nails for you. But if the last two years have taught us anything, we know that going to the salon or your favorite nail tech isnt always going to be an option. Weve had to take matters into our own hands literally.
While there are key differences between gel and acrylic nails, the removal process is pretty similar and were sharing a few of our favorite methods for at-home acrylic nail removal, including how to remove acrylic nails without acetone.

The Downsides Of Using Glue
If you feel like you must use glue to make those DIY press-ons last , there are a few things youll want to keep in mind.
First of all, never use too much. Youve heard the expression a little goes a long way and that applies to using nail glue.
Just a light coat on the nail bed is all you need to ensure adhesion, and any more than that will end up doing more harm than good for your manicure or pedicure.
Of course, there are downsides to nail glue that we need to mention.
Above all, its been made clear by science that glue is far from a natural substance, and ideally, we wouldnt have to use it at all.
Super-healthy hippie gurus will tell you that if you cant eat it, you shouldnt use it anywhere on your body. Were not quite on that level, but we get the point.
Too much glue use over time can degrade the quality of the nail bed and make it trickier to grow strong and healthy nails in the long term.
We recommend that you take it easy on the glue, try to find more natural solutions if you can and every once in a while go glue-free to restore the natural oils and cell structure of your real nails.
If you do run into an unfortunate situation where nail glue gets stuck to your skin, Healthline has some tips to ensure you get out of that sticky situation.

How Do You Use An At
Start off by filing and shaping nails to your desired length and shape. From there, lightly buff the nails to smooth out any ridges and push the cuticles back. Next, wipe with rubbing alcohol for a clean and dry canvas, says James. Then apply a thin layer of the base coat and cure under the lamp for 60-90 seconds. Follow that up with two coats of your preferred nail shade, curing after each coat for the same amount of time. During this step, James says, You can use a clean-up brush dipped in acetone while painting to remove any gel polish that is on the skin or cuticles. Lastly, apply a no-wipe topcoat and cure.
Gurung adds that if youre using a regular top coat, wiping it with alcohol after applying is essential so that it doesnt feel sticky. She recommends topping everything off with some cuticle oil on each nail for some bonus shine and moisture.
