It’s the cod fish prepared like tenders but called fish hooks. They came so amazing fresh & hot with steak fries. We had ordered an appetizer the battered mushrooms which I’m not a fan of mushrooms but these were delicious. Our waiter Carson was amazing, he chatted with us & did the most as our waiter. Old Bag Of Nails Kicks Off Retail Development At Whitehall’s Norton Crossing
Fourteen Old Bag of Nails Pub locations are open in Ohio today, but the one planned to open next spring in Whitehall’s Norton Crossing will be unlike the others before it.
The 5,500-square-foot restaurant will be part of the clubhouse for the future $50 million mixed-use Norton Crossing development, on the south side of East Broad Street and just west of South Hamilton Road.
The restaurant will be attached to a community pool and other amenities for Norton Crossing residents
It was an idea Old Bag of Nails Pub founder Mike Purdum wanted to be a part of.
“Everything is swinging in the right direction for Whitehall,” said Purdum, who explored expanding his chain of Old Bag of Nails Pubs when city officials approached him about Norton Crossing.
Purdum originally planned to call the new eatery Hobnob Tavern, a concept for another branding of his restaurants, but has opted to keep the name the public knows — at least for his endeavor at Norton Crossing.
“It’s something I still might try — just not here,” said Purdum, who in 1996 opened his first Old Bag of Nails Pub on North High Street in historic downtown Worthington.
Norton Crossing’s site likely would become the 16th Old Bag of Nails Pub, following an opening of a restaurant in Toledo scheduled ahead of Whitehall’s version.
Norton Crossing’s pub is planned as a freestanding building and larger than most of other locations, Purdum said, but connected to the Norton Crossing clubhouse.

Old Bag Of Nails Pour House Tavern Leaving Gahanna
Old Bag of Nails Pub and Pour House Tavern are bidding farewell to Gahanna.
Both, part of the local chain founded and owned by Mike Purdum, will close at the end of business day Aug. 29.
It was a tough decision to leave Gahanna after 20 years, Purdum said. Its sad to leave because its such a beautiful location.
In the Creekside development with patio views of Big Walnut Creek, Old Bag of Nails is at 63 Mill St., and Pour House is next door at 57 Mill St.
Purdum said a developer had contacted him about selling the properties and the deal was too good to ignore. He wouldnt disclose the purchasers name or terms of the sale because the contract was not finalized.
Either way, he said, hes closing.
All employees have been given jobs at other locations in the company, he said.
Purdum said the closest Old Bag of Nails Pub is at 4661 E. Broad St. in Whitehall. The company has no other Pour House.
In a pair of related notes, Purdum, long known for his fish and chips, is going into the pizza business.
He said after 10 years of research and development with his wife, Tara Purdum, he will dedicate half of the Old Bag of Nails Pub at 2012 Tremont Center in Upper Arlington to his pizza venture.
He said he slowly has rolled out the homemade pie a few nights at the restaurant and the customers greeted it warmly.
He said he hasnt decided on a name yet for the pizzeria but expects to open it in a few months.
