Ive never been much of a nail girl because a) I suck at painting my nails b) Im a crafty person and use my hands a lot c) every gel manicure Ive ever gotten have never lasted more than a week. I love the idea of having pretty nails and really love the crazy sparkly designs the Koreans do, but I only dream about them and save them on my Pinterest. I first discovered nail strips or stickers at Etude House and thought it would just be fun to try, but it led me to discover Dashing Diva and their amazing line of press on nails and gloss gel strips!

After my disappointing experience with Etude House, I discovered Dashing Diva and was so surprised by the difference in quality. These gel strips were much thicker than Etude Houses version and they lasted so long! I put them through the test and they survived cooking, cleaning, baking, gardening, crafting, etc. They did not budge! I got a solid 2 weeks of wear out of them and they couldve lasted longer, but my nails were getting too long. I absolutely love these!

Frankly I used to not really into fake nail or nail tip because I always feel it uncomfortable, only lasts for a super short period , plus I can’t do many things with it . At this point I was already so obsessed with Dashing Diva that I wanted to try their MagicPress line since they had way more exciting designs. These press on nails are way easier to apply than the gel strips since you literally just press and go. I loved how these looked the first two days of wear and I felt so classy with the Swarovski crystals! Youre supposed to get 7 days of wear out of them and per usual I put these to the test. I tried these during the holiday season so I was wrapping, crafting, cooking, cleaning, baking, and I was really rough with my hands. By the end of day 7, I lost 3 nails- 1 came off on its own and I peeled 2 of them because they were loose. Not bad! My gripes with this type of press on nail is that after day 2 from initial application, the glue underneath the nail will expand. This causes the nail to rise and form a gap between you and the nail. It not only looks a little weird, but things start getting caught under the nail. I pulled out so many strands of my own hair by accident because they kept getting caught. Nevertheless, I was still impressed and loved how they gave me salon looking nails at a fraction of the price. Salon nails never last on me so this was a win win!

After that experience, I placed an order during their Black Friday sale and if you follow this blog then youll have seen it here. I ordered more MagicPress nails and tried out another set for a holiday party.

Etude House Nail Stickers

So these nail strips were my first venture into the land of nail art/wraps/stickers/strips and I applied them as directed. Clean your hands, make sure there are no oils on your nail beds, apply the appropriate sized strip, and file off the excess. It was kind of like applying screen protectors.

These stickers were quite thin and youll see the solid colors did not adhere as well as the other ones. They barely lasted me a day before they started coming off my nails. What a total bummer.

Review: Dashing Diva Magic Press Nails

Im not really sure what to say except, have you tried this? If not, you need to!

Ive always seen these Dashing Diva Magic Press-On Nails at Watsons every time I dropped by to stock up on stuff, but somehow have also always been apprehensive of them. To spend money on press-on nails and not be sure if they would last 2-3 weeks? Id rather get an express gel manicure done for $18 at Far East Plaza.

But then I saw them on Shopee and said, Screw this, lets try it. And so here I am, a couple of sets later and Im a convert.

Not only are these fake nails so pretty, they also:

• come in a variety of colours, textures and designs
• come in different lengths
• have a slim fit version for thinner nails
• are very sturdy

These have lasted hair washes, doing the dishes, bathing the baby and more. A note though on washing my hair with these on is that my hair can get caught beneath the fake nails, or between the nail and crystals that are stuck on. Its slightly annoying but since I dont wash my hair every day, Ill close an eye on that.
