Poor Quality And Slow Shipping
I have been hooked on Chill Tips and thought I would try Static nails. First red flag: Took forever to ship. Received them almost 2 weeks after I ordered.Took them out of the package . They are flimsy and only 1 size. Too wide for my slim fingers. Chill tips have like 3 different sizes in a box and are easy to file like natural nails to get the shape you want. They also last a long time.I didn’t even try to use the Static nails! I could see the material was cheap and could see them easily breaking. Straight in the bin they went! Waste of $36. DO NOT BUY.

Theres no way around it, your nails will eventually be chipped when climbing . A user on Reddit had a fantastic idea to minimize how much these chips are noticeable. They suggested applying a clear gel polish with sparkles in it to distract from the chipping and make them less obvious.
Does Rock Climbing Ruin Your Nails How To Protect Them
As a guy, I have never really had to worry about my fingernails getting ruined while climbing. To be honest, it never really crossed my mind until a few of my climbing friends started talking about it. All of them said that they have kept pretty short nails over the years to stay climbing hard. This got me wondering, just how much does climbing ruin nails and are there any ways to prevent it?
As a general rule, rock climbing will ruin climbers nails by scuffing, chipping, and breaking them. Keeping your nails short and filed will help prevent any significant damage from occurring to them. Applying gel fingernail polish can help strengthen your nails against chipping or breaking.

Honestly I Love How They Look When
Honestly I love how they look when they’re applied- they do look fantastic. However, even when I bought their specific remover and followed their instructions to a t, my nails are destroyed. I really wanted to love these. The designs are great, but even with the solvent and using the tiniest amount of glue… they don’t pop off. I wish I could attach the pictures of how my nails look right now, I’ve been so careful and has to leave the solvent on far longer than it requested. After 5 minutes it still wouldn’t budge.

I’m Happy With Static Nails
I am really surprised at all of the negative comments on this product. I have worn artificial nails for 30 years because I am unable to withstand the pain of a profession set, so I was really interested in any nail that could stay on and look good after 14 days. I ordeed 3 sets and I have loved each set. They are afforable when you consider that I was using a set per week of Kiss nails. I thought they were easy to apply and stayed for a full 14 days as advertised. The colors are beautiful and received each order within a week. My complaints are that they are not resusable if you leave on for 14 days.By that time, the nails are beginning to look pretty ragged. Also, after the first week, the nails begin to lift from the cuticle where your own nails are growing out. By the end of 14 days, the nails are starting to look like they just sit on top of your nail and look really fake so I change them out every 10-12 days.Over-all, I found Static nails to be exactly what they advertise and well worth the money.

I can’t focus for the duration of an entire manicure in my current ADHD-riddled state, so as an active person who writes for a living, I need keep my nails short and I usually leave their grooming to the pros.
Growing up, I was a competitive equestrian and wasnt worried about breaking nails or chipping polish. Fast forward to my twenties, I’m now juggling grad school and a career, and keeping my nails looking professional takes a bit more upkeep.
My new solution is Static Nails, a press-on nail kit that gives me a flawless manicure in minutes.

Here’s What You Need To Know About Static Nails
When the pandemic hit, closing down nail salons, many people ended up trying to do their nails on their own, according to Vogue. One of the innovative companies catering to people who DIY their manicures is Static Nails . The company, which launched in 2016, makes both press-on, or pop-on, nails in several shades, lengths, and shapes, as well as nail lacquer in a variety of shades. According to Good Housekeeping, the brand’s reusable pop-on sets provide a flawless manicure in mere minutes, and they stay put for up to 18 days. An added benefit is you can paint them, too. The lacquer does not contain many of the toxic chemicals found in other polishes, and once you paint your nails with it, it will last three times as long as regular polishes.
Forbes reported that founder Alexis Irene started the groundbreaking manicure company out of her college dorm room. Irene told Makeup.com by Loreal that she “wanted to create a solution that looked natural, was non-toxic, durable and gave everyone access to luxury nail art” when she started the company as a college student. The brand had great success early on and enjoyed partnerships with big names like HSN and Sephora, which helped increase its visibility. During the pandemic, Static Nails ran lots of ads on social media and YouTube, enticing people who were used to professional manicures to give them a try. Irene said she hopes that converts will stick with her pop-ons post-pandemic.
Two: Choose Your Size
You’re going to want to test out the sizing of the nails next and can easily do this by placing each pop-on nail on your natural nail to see which size will fit each one best. After you’ve chosen all the nails you’ll need for each hand, line them up in order so you don’t get confused about which ones go where. Once you’ve sorted out your sizing, you’ll be ready to move on to gluing the nails in place.

Drugstore Mascaras That Never Flake
No one likes a flake. And while you can forgive your best friend who keeps ditching you to rewatch the Office, a flaky mascara is completely unacceptable. Not only it is a pain, its completely avoidable with the right p…
The Final Verdict On Static Nails
Static Nails are much thinner than your old-school drugstore press on nails, which is a huge benefit. This makes them more comfortable to wear and more realistic-looking. While wearing them, several people asked me if I had gotten my nails done recently and were surprised when I told them that I did them myself with a pack of press-ons. They held up well through lots of hand-washing, typing, and cleaning.
In terms of durability, mine lasted about a week before I noticed a few nails coming loose, but that could also be due to the amount of glue I used. The best part was that each hand came off easily and without wreaking havoc on my natural nails . In the past, Ive had to soak fake nails in acetone to pry them off, which was never pretty.
Plus, Static Nails really are reusable. By the time you get them off your fingers, cheaper options are warped in shape, while these pop right off and remain intact without looking worn, scratched, or chipped. I was able to re-store the nails in the same convenient plastic case for another use, making them well worth it. Ill likely be swapping out my regular polish for a pack of theseat least, I will the next time I actually have somewhere to go.

Which Press On Nails Are The Best
I have 2 brands that I LOVE out of all the ones I’ve tested. One is the Kiss Nails brand. You can find these all over drugstores and places like Target, Walmart and Ulta. They are everywhere. This brand also makes a type called Impress Nails but those ones are not my favorite. The Impress ones tend to pop up easier due to the adhesive and my hair gets stuck underneath a lot which I don’t love.
When I get Kiss Nails, I specifically get the ones without adhesive on them. They adhere to my nail better and lay flush to my nail bed which creates a more natural look and in my experience, lasts longer.
Another brand that I swear by is Static Nails. These ones are a little pricier than the Kiss Nails but I find they are a bit longer lasting. They also claim they can be re-worn if popped off correctly. I havenât tried that yet but I will update this when I do! They have an amazing color selection and look so natural! PS: I reached out to them and they offered me an affiliate code! âJENLOPEZ10â will get you a discount on their site!
For both press on nail brands, I go for the square shaped, shorter nails. Both Kiss and Static Nails have other options like oval, coffin, or almond nails but I typically prefer the shortest possible. But it’s good to know there is something for everyone.
How Long Do They Last
Again, this comes down to the quality of press-ons you purchase, but Frank says that a good application can last up to two weeks with proper care. If the nails themselves are durable, you can reuse them too, she says. My rule of thumb is: More glue equals longer wear. The cool part about press-ons is that you actually can wear them for very short periods of time too! Just look at Beyonce’s 2018 Coachella performance. There’s no salon backstage, Frank says. She just switched out her press-ons! So, whether you want flashy nails just for the weekend or youre hoping for a longer-lasting mani, press-ons might just be the answer to your prayers, especially those that come with adhesive tabs .

Unfortunately Did Not Last
I purchased 2 polishes to try, Elle & Little Beach House and both chipped after 1 day. I used a base coat & finish with a gel like top coat and the polish did not last long without chipping. My Sally Hansen & Opi polishes work better for less than half the cost. Was hoping these would work but don’t waste your money.

How You Remove Press
While press-on nails are less likely to leave your nails damaged, when compared to gels or acrylics, it’s still important that you’re gentle when you take them off.
What not to do? If a fake nail has one side coming loose, don’t tear it off. “Never ever pull of a nail tip,” says Edwards. “This will surely damage the nails.”
Instead, soak your nails in an acetone-based nail solution with baby oil. Edwards swears by a mess-free kit like KISS Quick Soak Off Removal System. It includes soak-off caps and nail-shaped pads. “Just add baby oil, which helps lift product off the nail and prevents dry skin, she says”

Don’t Forget The Glue
Most press-on nail packs will come with double-sided tape. But if you want your press-on nails to last longer, use glue. “If you are worried about any nails coming off, be sure to apply the glue at the tip of your own nail and near the base of the artificial press on,” Edwards suggests.
According to the pro nail artist, glued-on nails can stay on for up to 10 days. But to ensure your fake nails hold up, she recommends to avoid soaking your hands in warm water for 24 hours immediately following the application. “Let the glue and nail settle and mold to your nails,” says Edwards.
