How Do They Work

You apply each fake Static nail individually using a durable nail glue , and each nail set can be removed, reapplied, and filed to your liking . Each kit comes with 24 nails resulting in 12 shapes for each hand to ensure that you can get the right fit, and the price is under $20 making them a really affordable option. Seeing as nail shapes and sizes vary, you can always send a photo of your nails to customer service for an analysis of which set will fit you best.

How To Apply Static Nail Pop On Manicures:

1. Select the correct sizes by aligning the Static Nail with the sides of your natural nail. If the Static nail is too small some of your natural nail will show. Choosing a smaller size is fine as long as its comfortable. If the Static Nail is too big it will go past the sides of your natural nail bed- this may feel uncomfortable so I recommend going smaller than bigger. If you must go bigger, just file the sides a little before you glue them on.

2. I always prep my nails by pushing my cuticles back , trimming my natural nails, and wiping with acetone to ensure my nails are clean and dry.

3. Apply glue to the back of the Static Nails and to your natural nail and let it dry for a few seconds then apply the nail.

4. Align the Static nail slightly under your cuticle at about 45-degree angle. Using your thumb, press the Static nail down very firmly. The more pressure the better. Ensure pressure is being applied to the entire nail. Hold for 25 seconds, the longer the better.

5. If glue pushes out of the sides of the nail, wipe with a paper towel away from the nail and towards your skin . If you do get any glue on the nail it will make it look matte and/or feel bumpy- grab a cotton ball with acetone and wipe the nail down quickly.

6. If you want to reshape the nail now is the time. I use this machine and finish off with a glass nail file for smoothing the edges.

The Final Verdict On Static Nails

Static Nails are much thinner than your old-school drugstore press on nails, which is a huge benefit. This makes them more comfortable to wear and more realistic-looking. While wearing them, several people asked me if I had gotten my nails done recently and were surprised when I told them that I did them myself with a pack of press-ons. They held up well through lots of hand-washing, typing, and cleaning.

In terms of durability, mine lasted about a week before I noticed a few nails coming loose, but that could also be due to the amount of glue I used. The best part was that each hand came off easily and without wreaking havoc on my natural nails . In the past, Ive had to soak fake nails in acetone to pry them off, which was never pretty.

Plus, Static Nails really are reusable. By the time you get them off your fingers, cheaper options are warped in shape, while these pop right off and remain intact without looking worn, scratched, or chipped. I was able to re-store the nails in the same convenient plastic case for another use, making them well worth it. Ill likely be swapping out my regular polish for a pack of theseat least, I will the next time I actually have somewhere to go.

Four: Shape And File To Your Desired Length

After you’ve applied the nails and the glue has dried, you can shape and file them to your liking. I don’t wear my natural nails long and use my hands a lot for work and typing, so I wanted to trim the nails down to be much shorter and more natural-looking. They are very easy to cut and file and have a lovely buttery texture that can be shaped without ruining the nail. I was relieved that I was able to cut them and didn’t run into any issues whatsoever, as the initial length was too long to type with. Once I cut them, I was able to do all the normal things I do in a day and the nails stayed on very well. Below, you can see a photo of my nails after they were shaped to my preference.

Shaping Your Own Static Nails

This year the almond nail shape has really come into style and on the Static Nails website, the almond shape is considered medium length but its way too long for my nail beds. I usually purchase the round shape, glue them on, then shape the sides to look more almond.

Many of the sets with a fun design come in almond shape so Ill purchase that length and spend a lot of time filing and prepping them before I apply them. This tool makes it so much faster! If the design is near the tip of the nail I file down the backside until I am comfortable with the length and am certain its rounded enough for my nail beds. I usually also file the tips a little because they can be sharp and they curl down instead of going straight out the way the round nails do. They arent quite as comfortable for that reason. Ive also learned that I need to cut my nails very short and taper in the edges if Im going to apply an almond set because my nails will stick out of the sides of the nail.

How Long Do Static Nails Last

The Static Nails website touts up to 18-day wear, depending on how much glue you apply. For example, if you only need them to last a few days for a special occasion, the company advises just a thin strip of glue on your natural nail. For longer wear, youll want to apply a pea-sized amount to the base of the nail as well as your natural nail. The good news is you cant overdo it with the glue that comes with Static Nails, because its specially formulated to dissolve as you wear it, resulting in no damage or residue being left behind after they pop-off or you gently remove them.

One: Prep Your Natural Nails

First off, you’re going to want to file and buff your natural nails to make sure they are clean of any previous polish. It’s also important to remove any kind of oil on the nails as well and you can simply do this by using acetone. There’s a file conveniently located in the kit in case you don’t have one which also acts as a buffing tool for your nails.

I Finally Tried Static Nails The Press

Static Nails: Reusable Pop-on Manicures – Review & Wear Test

Allow me to be frank: I am a freelance beauty editor, and I am awful at painting my own nails. I can’t focus for the duration of an entire manicure in my current ADHD-riddled state, so as an active person who writes for a living, I need keep my nails short and I usually leave their grooming to the pros.

Growing up, I was a competitive equestrian and wasnt worried about breaking nails or chipping polish. Fast forward to my twenties, I’m now juggling grad school and a career, and keeping my nails looking professional takes a bit more upkeep.

My new solution is Static Nails, a press-on nail kit that gives me a flawless manicure in minutes.

So How Do I Remove Static Nails

Just like they pop on, they also pop off. The brand recommends that you soak your nails in hot water for a few minutes. This softens the faux nails and natural nail, and makes the popping off that much easier. From there, you gently lift the side of the Static Nail, alternating until youre left with your natural, damage-free nail.

Are Static Nails Reusable

Yes! These at-home nail kits are built to withstand as many as six reapplications. Heres what Static Nails founder Alexis Irene told Forbes:

“Statics Reusable Pop-On Nails give everyone all over the world access to luxury, on-trend nail art for a fraction of the money and time spent in salons. The best part is that these nails are non-damaging to natural nails, they can be customized without damaging the original design, they only take 5 minutes to apply, and can be worn up to 18 days or reapplied up to six times.”

That sounds pretty good to me, but theres going to be a time when we have to remove our Static Nails.

Why Are Static Nails Unique

Static Nails glue is unlike any of the other brands out there because it bonds like acrylic but dissolves as you wear it. The nails can last up to 18 days and theres no damage or residual glue leftover when the nails are removed properly.

Static says their nails will fit everyone from a 13-year-old to a drag queen. They also have a service where if you email a photo of your hand to them they can tell you if their nails will fit on yours. My nail beds are pretty wide and their nails fit me with no issues but for reference, my thumb is usually one of the top two largest sizes. Youd think that all glue on or press on nails would fit any female but unfortunately, thats not the case Impress Press-ons just didnt work for me.

They say you can do everything from garden, change a tire, style your hair, etc. and this is true! Ive moved and unpacked an entire house and done every daily task you can imagine in mine!

Nails are one thing you can get into shape without exercise.

One of my most popular beauty articles here on SSD was about cruelty-free nail brand, Static Nails.

Naturally, I thought Id bring back this beauty brand I love and use and talk about their reusable pop-on manicure.

During the spring, I had let my nails get too long and some of them ended up breaking. Since I hate uneven nails and wearing nail polish on super short nails, I thought it wouldnt hurt to experiment with these luxury press on nails.

I had also recently tried press-on nails from imPress Nails as a temporary solution while waiting for my nails grow out. And lets just say I was not impressed because it lasted all of 20 minutes. Wearing fake nails brought me back to my high school years when I did short press-on KISS nails for dance performances and long press-on nails for my senior year events.

When I remembered Static Nails offered a lot of neutral nail options, I decided to relive my youth a little bit. After using and loving Static Nails Liquid Glass Lacquer: Perfect Nudes Palette I figured Id give their neutral press-on nails a try.

This week, I want to introduce you to the reusable pop-on manicure by Static Nails. If youre curious of my review, keep reading!

Everything You Need To Know About Static Nails Reusable Pop

I LOVE glue-on & press-on nails. Ive been using them since 2019 and have no need to sit at the salon for 2 hours ever again. I used to always dread getting my nails done Will I like the color for 3 weeks? Is the shape right? Are they going to chip or break? Plus, no one enjoys spending $75+ every few weeks Right? I started wearing press-on nails when I moved to Nashville from San Diego. I did a collaboration with Dashing Divas Magic Press-Ons and I was amazed at how well they stayed on! Im still a big fan of Dashing Diva but once I discovered glue-on nails my life was forever changed. I started with Kiss Brand and I do like them BUT the variety in colors isnt that great. I kept seeing Static Nails chic marketing and knew I had to try them! It was love at first manicure and I have used them almost exclusively since.

In this post, Ill explain everything you need to know about Static Nails Reusable Pop-On Manicures. Ill share what makes them unique, and show you what the application process is like. I linked my first application video as well as my follow-up video with my updated thoughts and all of the tricks Ive learned since I started using them.

Our tester liked the mess-free glueless application of these press-on nails. However, the adhesive tabs weren’t an exact fit, and there was no way to trim them down to size. And unfortunately, three nails had popped off just a half-day after applying them. Our tester wasn’t a huge fan of the square shape, either, though this is a matter of personal preference.

What Are Static Nails And How Do They Work

Static Nails are packaged, press-on nail sets, and they’re my favorite at-home option for DIY-ing your own nails. Whether youre avoiding gel manicures, too busy for salon appointments, or youre budgeting, the product’s patent-pending liquid glass lacquer is 8-free and lasts three times as long as a regular manicure.

How To Apply Static Nails

I found the application process to be quite simple, but there are a few things to keep in mind. First off, you are using nail glue and want to make sure you are applying it on a flat surface with cloth underneath to not damage any furniture. It’s also important to not squeeze the tube too hard so excess glue doesn’t come out resulting in a sticky mess. Below I’ve listed the steps on how to apply your pop-on manicure:

The Results: Chic And Durable

I was seriously impressed with the strength of these nails and how natural they looked. I wore them for a total of 10 days, and a few of them popped off during this time, but I was able to re-apply them easily and just added some extra glue to ensure they stayed in place. The nails never felt like they were in the way, and I also loved the fact that the color doesn’t chip at all which is a huge issue whenever I get a manicure or do my own polish. For the cost and how long the nails last along with being reusable, I absolutely believe they are worth the cost .
