Get Some Nail Glue So You Can Reuse A Nail That Pops Off
Ok I know I just said theres no glue required, and thats true, but one trick Ive been doing lately is using nail glue to reuse a nail that pops off.
and works great. Sometimes a nail will get snagged on something and come off, or a nail will start to lift at the base .
If it pops off Ill just put it back on with nail glue and that way Im not having to use a brand new nail that I can use instead for a future mani.
And if a nail starts to lift at the bottom Ill just add a drop of nail glue and that solves the issue!
Ive also started using nail glue right off the bat when I apply my imPRESS nails in addition to the adhesive already on the nails, and this also helps your mani last longer.

I never thought Id be a person who could even use fake nails. My natural nails are short and brittle no matter how much collagen I use, how many vitamins I take or even strengthening nail polish, they just cant get long.
Regular nail polish just doesnt cut it for me and I have tried and failed HARD to do my own gel manicure at home with at-home gel polish. I was going to a salon for a while to get gel nails applied professionally at a nail salon, but that was $65-70 a visit here in San Francisco, so I stopped making monthly return visits.
Enter: imPRESS press nails that are supposedly easy to apply to your own nails and come in hot at a super affordable price of around $10 a pack. Their nail collection is HUGE and rumors have it that these nails last a really long time.
I first tried out the Lavish Couture set, filmed the process of applying them and then sat down to write this imPRESS nails review post one week later to see if theyve held up. UPDATE: Since writing this in 2020, I have been using imPRESS nails all the time. This post is now updated with even more tips!

Press-on nails have come a long way since I last used them in middle school. So Im sharing an imPRESS nails review, with all the deets on where I buy them and tips for how I get them to last up to two weeks.
Ive never had great nails. I have girlfriends who can grow these gorgeous, long nails that they just paint themselves and it looks like a freaking salon manicure. That is just not my truth. No matter how much collagen I consume, my nails always break.
And I hate going to nail salons .

And each set includes 30 nails, so I can get two full manicures from one box. Depending on the size of your fingers, you may end up with some odd sizing leftover .
But do the maththats ~$3 a manicure.
And its so quick and easy. Start to finish, it takes me 10 minutes to apply my imPRESS nails! Such a time saver.

How Long Did Kiss Impress Nails Last
Full disclaimer: I am a stay at home, work at home, homeschooling mom. My kids are older now, so they are capable of doing more on their own. HOWEVER, I am still wiping counters, cleaning bathrooms, doing dishes, cooking and washing my hands all day long.
These are the reasons why I hate spending $40 at the salon only to have my nails looking dull and over-grown in a week.
That being said, the Kiss Impress nails have lasted beautifully for a full week! I havent tried to keep them longer because I dont like the over-grown look and my hairs would snag on the bottoms after a week or so.

How To Make The Most Of Your Money
Like I said, each kit comes with 30 different sized nails. Unfortunately, I have found that I can usually only get a perfect fit once in each kit.
Try to get more and one wear
The first kit I purchased I was able to get 2 wears out of by sticking to numbers similar to my perfet fit nail numbers. For example:
My nail sizes: 04359
I have these nail numbers written down so I can easily pull out my best fitting sizes.
When trying to do a second application, I will choose numbers that are close to these like 15269
However, you can see in both of these scenarios, Im trying to use the number 5. Usually, there arent enough to make it through 2 wears and Im left with an ill-fit nail.
Keep leftovers
If you really like a certain color of nail and you want to purchase it again, make sure you keep your leftovers. This will help you get more wears out of this particular color of nail.
Mix and match
When you buy several styles, you could also mix and match them to create a unique look. I did this for my daughter with the Shimmer and Matte Navy Blue. Her nails wound up being pink, navy blue, sparkly pink and shimmery gold because of all the combination options available.
Buy From Recent Nail Collections
imPRESS comes out with new collections on a pretty regular basismaybe even monthly, Im not 100% sure. I just know its April now and I see some of the same styles on their site from March, with a few new ones.
And when I first started buying press-on nails from them back in November they had all the cute holiday styles available. Anyways, my point is that since theyre constantly coming out with new designs, sometimes popular designs go out of stock fast.
Ive also tried ordering some designs on eBay when theyre no longer available on the imPRESS website, Walmart, Target, Ulta, etc. Ive found some really cute ones on eBay like these hot pink with leopard accent nails .
However, I will say that Ive noticed their older designs chip easier, and the newer designs from more recent collections last a lot longer. That doesnt mean you shouldnt buy the older designs if theres a style you really love, but just manage your expectations and know that older ones may only last you a week, rather than two weeks.
Which again is not necessarily a bad thingsometimes after a week Im ready to pop my nails off and try a new style.

What Are The Best Impress Nail Colors
There are SO many Kiss Impress Nails available its really up to you on which colors you like best! You can shop them at places like Target, or online at their site directly for even more options.
Keep in mind that if you go for the Coutoure set, as I have here, that the faux diamonds are super chunky. I still havent gotten used to the feeling of something on my nails So if you get easily distracted by things like that, go for a flat/plain set of nails.

You know all those times when youre on your way somewhere and you look down and think, I really should have gotten a manicure? Thats when these come up huge. All you have to do is swipe your nails with the included prep pad and press these onit couldnt be simpler. Theyre admittedly not the longest lasting of the bunch, with a lifespan that lasts just a day or two, but the upshot of that is that they do peel off easily. And with such a wallet-friendly price tag, theyre great to have on-hand as emergency mani back-up.

For a while, I was including the cost of gel nails at the salon into my monthly budget.
1 month of salon gel nails: $80 $120
After about a week my nails had grown out bad enough to no longer look nice. I would do my best to try getting to the salon every 2 weeks even though my nails would be grown out and chipping.
If I were to get my nails done as often as I would have wanted to, the cost would have been closer to that $120 mark.
