How Do You Apply Them

ðð?¼ How To Remove Press on Nails | imPRESS® Manicure

The Impress Nails are very easy to apply. Just open up the box, make sure your nails are clean and dry and a little roughed up , and then peel off the backing of the nail and press it on. Kaitlynn and I applied them together and we found it worked best to hold them nail down and press around all over it for around 30 seconds.

The biggest tip people gave me over and over was to not get them wet for a few hours. They said this gives the glue time to dry. They also strongly recommended putting them on a little while before bed so that the glue had time to fully dry all night. People who said theirs stay on for 10-14 days all told me that they did this.

Can You Reuse Press

So youve got this last-minute social event. Youre dressed to impress and your makeups on point. But you look at your nails and theyre a bit wonky.

Lets face it. There are times when we dont have well-manicured nails. Maybe youre growing out your natural nails or youre just overdue for your next appointment.

Youve got press-on nails, but theyre already used. Can you reuse press-on nails?

They are fabulous, fast to apply, and yes, reusable assuming you follow the right steps. Read further to figure out how to do that.

But first, lets tell you what press-on nails are and what makes them reusable.

Why Are Press On Nails Superior

After years of being devoted to acrylics, many women are now ditching acrylics and switching over to press on nails.

While acrylics were a great option back when press on nails were cheap and flimsy, times have changed and our nails should change as a result! We have become so used to our bi-monthly nail salon appointments to get our acrylic nails filled with the hottest colors. At first glance, this might not seem so bad. After all, who doesnt love a trip to the nail salon?

However, spending hours and hundreds of dollars at the nail salon each month just to end up with damaged nails thanks to acrylics doesnt really sound like an ideal situation. But if you havent experienced anything else, then you might not even question it. Thats why we guarantee that once you try press on nails you will become totally hooked and will never go back to your old acrylic days.

Press on nails are totally superior to their fake nail alternatives because you can apply them in your own home, on your own schedule, without having to shell out a bunch of money to a nail technician. Instead of spending tons of money to maintain your acrylics every month, you can pay $10 or so for a whole set of press on fake nails that last up to two weeks and are even reusable!

What Are Impress Nails

Impress nails are semi-natural looking nails that are made with resin materials, which makes them pretty flexible. Women love them since they are easy to do, maintain, as well as achieve on your own. Impress nails can stay on even if youre washing the dishes, doing your hair, or taking a shower. They are a beautiful substitute for any artificial nail option, as well as an inexpensive solution.

Be gentle when removing fake nails, meaning dont rip them off .

If you used self-stick nails, you can simply soak your fingertips in warm, soapy water for about five to 10 minutes then gently start lifting the artificial nails. For glue, however, you will likely need acetone to break it down, according to Marton. She recommends adding a drop of oil or rich cream onto your hands to regain moisture immediately after using acetone.

Again, these nails were not designed to last long, so they should come off fairly easy just be gentle in your process, Marton said.

What Dont You Like About Impress Nails

As I mentioned above, I still have to get used to the feeling of something heavy on my nail, but this is only a problem for the 3 fingers I have a studded nail design on.

Also, as I chat about in my video, before I re-applied a new coat of clear gel on the underside, a couple of my fake nails were ever so slightly detaching from my nail. Not enough to notice BUT it turned into a hair trap. As in, everything I ran my fingers through my hair, a strand would be trapped under my fake nail.

But thats literally the only thing I have to complain about. I love my imPRESS nails and will be using these for many years to come!

I hope this helps you decide if imPRESS nails are for you! If you have thoughts to add or more reviews, leave a comment below so everyone can see. Id especially love to hear from you if you have swum in the ocean or a pool with these nails on! Did they still stick?

Here Are My Best Tips For The Impress Nails Application:

Tips & Tricks: Removing imPress Nails
  • When picking a nail for each finger, pick a size thats the exact width of your nail or slightly smaller. They will stay on longer if not touching your skin on the side of the nail.
  • Make sure to use the alcohol wipe that comes with the packet to clean nails before applying Impress Nails.
  • To get the most natural look, take the tab off, and press it right up to and under your cuticle.
  • For best adhesion, spend a few minutes just pressing the nails to your nails, going along each finger and pressing. I will sometimes apply mine while watching TV, and just keep pressing for awhile.
  • Apply them before bed! Then they will set up better while sleeping since you wont be using your hands. I noticed that Im more likely to have them stay on longer when I do that.
  • File the ends a bit if there are rough spots after application. Theres a small nail file that comes in the kit, but its good to have a bigger size on hand.
  • Be careful with your nails. I still take a hot bath every night and do lots of dishes, but Im careful not to use my nails to open things.
  • If a nail pops off, keep some nail glue on hand, and apply a couple of drops to put it back on.
  • Removal is actually pretty easy. Peel them off starting at the sides, and the glue comes off pretty easily. I never use acetone or anything.

Removing Kiss Press Nails By Using Acetone

Soak nails into Acetone:

Take a small glass bowl and pour some acetone into the bowl as if you can soak your nails into the acetone properly. After a few moments, you will see the plastic nails started to melt.

Pull out your nails and check whether the nails are ready to come off or not. If so, then remove the nails. And if the nails are hard to remove, then soak the nails again into the acetone bowl.

Moisturize your nails:

After removing the false nails from your natural nails, wash your hands with soap to remove the harmful acetone from your nails. You will see the nail will become very dry.

Wipe the water and apply some cuticle oil on your nails. If your nails have excess glue after washing, then buff them to remove the excess glue.

Caution:

  • Make sure acetone is not sensitive to your skin and nails.
  • Dont soak nails into the acetone for more than 15 minutes it can damage your skin and natural nails.
  • Dont forget to apply moisturizer on nails after removing the kiss press nails.
  • You can use a buffer to remove excess glue from the nail.

Using Solvents And A Cuticle Pusher

  • 1Soak your nails in warm soapy water. Soaking your press-on nails in a bowl of warm soapy water may help to loosen them. Mix some warm water and add a few drops of hand soap in a small dish. Place your fingertips in the water and let your nails soak for about 10 minutes.
  • You can try to rock the nails back and forth slightly while they are soaking then the soapy water. This might help to get some water to the adhesive and loosen it.
  • After about 10 minutes of soaking your fingertips, remove them from the water and see if you can peel off the nails.
  • 2Apply some cuticle oil. Cuticle oil may also help to loosen up press-on nails.XResearch source Apply a few drops of cuticle oil to the areas just under the press-on nails. Then, let the oil soak in for a few minutes.
  • After a few minutes, try to rock the nails back and forth to see if they are loose enough to pull off.
  • Dont try to force off the nail if it will not come off easily.
  • 3Use a cuticle pusher to loosen the nail. You can also use a cuticle pusher to get underneath the nail and slowly work it off. Use the pointed end of a wooden cuticle pusher to get between your natural nail and the fake nail. Then, slowly start rolling the cuticle pusher back and forth to loosen the nail.XResearch source
  • Roll the cuticle pusher down from the cuticle towards the tip of your nail. Dont start from the tip and work backwards.

Press-on nails have come a long way since I last used them in middle school. So Im sharing an imPRESS nails review, with all the deets on where I buy them and tips for how I get them to last up to two weeks.

Ive never had great nails. I have girlfriends who can grow these gorgeous, long nails that they just paint themselves and it looks like a freaking salon manicure. That is just not my truth. No matter how much collagen I consume, my nails always break.

And I hate going to nail salons .

I know some people love going to get their nails done and its like a treat for them, and if thats you, good for you girl. Treat yourself to a mani after quarantine is over.

But for me, it just drives me crazy how long it takes to sit there and I cant even multitask. It feels like such a waste of time to me. Plus, going to nail salons is a really expensive habit!

Doing my own nails at home with an imPRESS manicure solves both of these issues for me because its cheapyou can find them on sale at Target for $6, and current styles on imPRESS site range from $8 11, depending on if they have embellishments or not.

And each set includes 30 nails, so I can get two full manicures from one box. Depending on the size of your fingers, you may end up with some odd sizing leftover .

But do the maththats ~$3 a manicure.

And its so quick and easy. Start to finish, it takes me 10 minutes to apply my imPRESS nails! Such a time saver.

There are SO many Kiss Impress Nails available its really up to you on which colors you like best! You can shop them at places like Target, or online at their site directly for even more options.

Keep in mind that if you go for the Coutoure set, as I have here, that the faux diamonds are super chunky. I still havent gotten used to the feeling of something on my nails So if you get easily distracted by things like that, go for a flat/plain set of nails.

Proper Way To Apply Press On Nails

As you can see, the press-on nails dont really ruin your natural nails. It is the improper handling of the press-on nails that leads to the damage of your natural nail. Lets avoid that by going over how to properly attach the press-on nail, and how to properly remove it as well.

One of the best ways to protect your natural nail from damage even if you are using press-on nails is to attach it properly.

A beauty blogger, I am not.but I have to tell you how much I love this product. I heard about it from Mallory over at ClassyClutter. She showed on her instastory a few weeks back these nails that you press on, and they stay on, do not get marked up, look amazing for a weekand then you take them off. I was intrigued mainly because I am that person who gets a gel manicure, and then HATES to go back and get it taken offso I try to do it myself, with the foil and the acetone, and waitingand I end up crying and cursing all the things after about an hour or trying to take off the gel nail polish. Can. Not. Stand the gel. So, I wanted to try these Impress Nails, they are cheap, come in a ton of colors, no harsh gel light thing, no harmful chemicals and are SOOOOOOO easy to put on and take off. Since I project a lot, and my nails are constantly getting beaten up, I thought it was at least worth a try. I shared this on a few weeks backyall were intrigued too. I will say, that I didnt find much info online about the best way to take them off. So I did put a little video together so that you can see how easy it is:) You can find these at most drug stores and Target etc.I have found the most color selection at CVS

    How To Apply Impress Nails

How I remove my imPRESS press on nails | DIY

The box makes it seem really easy to apply these nails. Clean, Peel, Stick!

BUTTT theres a little more that goes into applying imPRESS nails correctly and of course, the upkeep of maintaining them.

First, trim and file down your nails so they are smooth and at your desired length. My thumbnail was brittle so I filed it down to be more smooth so the fake nail could adhere better. Then, clean your nail with the wipe that comes in.

When it comes time to apply a nail, use the size that fits best. There are little numbers on each nail to signal which size they are but I found it much easier to just hold up an imPRESS nail to my own to see what one fits the best. When in doubt, go with the smaller size.

Then, stick em on! Start by pressing down in the middle of the nail and then rolling your finger to the edges to really make sure its stuck on. Do this for both of your hands and make sure to have fun with the patterns!

When all the nails are applied, take a clear gel polish and coat the underside of each nail. This is SUPER important for helping the fake nail adhere to your own and maintaining this underside coat of clear polish helps the nails stay on longer.

Wait an hour and then use a nail clipper to trim down the fake nails, as theyll be really long. The pack does come with a small nail file but I found it kind of useless, so I used my own. After about 10 minutes of trimming and sculpting, my nails were ready! Woohoo!
