How To Make Nail Stickers

Stage : Apply Vinyl Laminate

HOW TO MAKE NAIL STICKERS | NAIL DECALS EASY

The top printable layer of this vinyl is a little more delicate than regular adhesive vinyl. On its own, the stickers will last for about a year and wont be very water-resistant. But if you protect them with a clear vinyl laminate, then they can last for up to 5 years and withstand being washed.

  • Once your design is printed, place it on a hard, flat surface.
  • Starting from one edge, begin to peel the backing off of your clear vinyl laminate. Only peel off an inch or so to start.
  • Line up the edge of the laminate with the edge of your paper, and press it down smoothly so there are no creases or air bubbles.
  • Using a ruler or scraper, smooth the laminate onto the printed page as you pull the paper backing away.
  • Use that same tool so burnish the laminate onto the printed vinyl. This helps the laminate stay in place and helps get rid of any air bubbles.

    Make Your Own Nail Wraps

I recently discovered this nail trick, and I seriously think its going to revolutionize my nail art from now on. If youre not the best at painting your nails with a steady hand, why not just make your own nail wraps and forget about trying to master the brush!?

All you need are some polishes and a plastic bag. You can also use waxed paper or anything with a glossy surface.

On your plastic, paint a general shape of a nail. Try to keep the polish thick so its easier to peel off later.

Let that dry and add your own nail art. I decided on some easy polka dots and flowers.; Youll need to let your finished creations dry for about an hour or so.

Paint your nails a solid colour. Once dry, grab some tweezers and gently peel the nail sticker off of the plastic. It should come off fairly easily. Position on your nail.

Using your finger or a nail tool, press the design onto your nail and smooth it out just like you would with a store-bought nail wrap!

If you need to, you can cut off the excess wrap with a wooden nail tool or just use some nail polish remover on a q-tip or brush.

Finish by applying a clear top coat, and youre done!

You can also create cute little singular decals like this flower and place them wherever you like!

Now you have no excuses for not being able to paint your nails with cute designs!

For jewels and small accent stickers, you’ll need polish underneath. Get your regular manicure done with nail polish, and follow the directions for the stickers. With smaller accents, try adding a dot of nail glue to the back for better bonding. To finish and protect the stickers, apply a coat of clear polish.

Effective Tips To Make Your Nail Stickers Last Long

Nail wraps are the ideal manicure solution for individuals who are unable to do their own manicures or who require a cute manicure in a matter of minutes. They take care of everything, and its simple to identify cruelty-free solutions. Do you want to know how to extend the life of your nail wraps? If you take care of your nail wraps, they should last at least a week, if not longer.

Nail wraps will quickly become a regular in your beauty routine if you follow these recommendations for making them last longer.

    1. Before putting stickers, make sure your nails are clean and dry. This applies to both polished and unpolished nails, as well as gel and shellac. The sticker may not adhere properly or pull wet polish from the nail if your nail polish is not totally dried. Before putting stickers on gel/shellac, make sure the last coat of gel has been fully cured.

    2. Remove your chosen nail stickers from their backing sheet with tweezers. If you touch the sticky side of the sticker with your fingers, the adhesiveness will be reduced.

    Place nail stickerson the nail gently at first, then press them firmly with a silicone tool once youre satisfied with their placement.;

    3. Use a silicone tool to do it; its much gentler on stickers than an orange stick , and the smooth surface ensures that the sticker sticks to the nails completely without creases or air bubbles.

    6. Trim the edges of the sticker to ensure that it fits exactly and matches the curve of your nail or nail bed.

So let us start the easy way by talking about making nail art stickers at home. It is very much simple and fun too.

Nail Art Stickers: The Dos And Don’ts Of Application

Shaky hands leave me few options when it comes to getting creative with my nails. Whenever I paint them, they come out a streaky and one hand is always infinitely better than the other. The thought of applying fake nails is daunting, while trying to attempt delicate nail art would be next to impossible — but this doesn’t mean my nails are a lost cause. Enter nail stickers.

They seemed like the perfect solution — they required little to no skill on my end and came already elaborately decorated. I bought two different pairs to attempt my first nail sticker application and decided to apply them sans video, as the detailed instructions on the back seemed like more than enough . After about an hour of pain and agony, I finished. They turned out okay, but getting there was no small feat. Let me break down the application:

The good: The Sephora by OPI nail stickers were much too stiff to apply to the nails — they didn’t bend and weren’t adhering properly. I quickly switched to my Kiss Nail Dress stickers and application became instantly easier. My biggest concern was filing away the excess sticker, but this turned out to be the easiest part, especially since my second set of stickers came complete with a mini nail file.

The bad: Getting the nail sticker to be the same width as your nail bed is somewhat of a nightmare. They tell you to simply trim them to the correct width but it seems impossible to measure it exactly — some of mine ended up being too thin or too wide.

Nail Art Tutorial: Make Your Own Decals With Magazines

You can utilize preprinted designs from home magazines or wrapping paper for your manicures by using clear polish to make them into nail decals.

Nowadays it seems like people are putting just about anything on their nails in the name of art. Maybe youve seen Rihannas $100 bill nails using real money, Katy Perrys pierced nails adorned with gold jewelry letters spelling out Moschino, or aquarium nails filled with water or baby oil and floating glitters.

    Supplies To Get Started

Luckily, the startup costs for a custom sticker business are pretty low!

If you already have the large equipment , the rest of the supplies should be less than $200.

Even if you are buying a new vinyl cutter, and;a new color printer, you should be able to get started for under $500.

So, what exactly do you need?

    Vinyl cutting supplies

Lets run over the list of the supplies youll need to be able to cut vinyl decals and get started with your own shop. Turns out, its not all that different from the tutorial above!

Ill go over the most important ones in more detail below:

    Business supplies

    • Printer.;Even if you arent printing on vinyl, youll still need a printer for printing labels and shipping receipts. You can use a black & white one for that.
    • Camera.;If you dont have a camera, you can either use your phone or ask a friend to help out.
    • Packing and shipping materials: tape, cardboard, envelopes, electronic scale, boxes & packing material, etc. $50-$80

Now, lets break some of these down:

    Selecting a vinyl cutting machine

The largest upfront cost for starting a vinyl decal business is the vinyl cutting machine. These machines range from $200 to over $3000, most machines I recommend run from $200-350.

If you need help comparing Cricut vs Silhouette you can check out that review of the two most popular machines, the Silhouette Cameo 3 and the Cricut Explore Air 2.

    Tips Tricks And Advice

    • If you notice your ink running when you place the laminate or acrylic spray, let the page dry for up to a day to let the ink fully set. Some types of ink take longer to set.
    • If your printer keeps jamming, youll want to use a printer that can handle heavier weight paper. These printers will have a straight path instead of a U-shaped path so the paper doesnt need to be bent.
