Of course, I did, otherwise you wouldnt be reading this post. If you dont know what dip nails are, its a technique somewhere between a gel manicure and acrylics. Whereas gel polish is cured under a UV or LED light, dip powder sets by itself with the help of a base coat and an activator coat. First, a base coat is painted on and then the nail is dipped into a colored powder to coat the nail. The powder is a combination of fine grain acrylic powder and resin . This combination isnt used to form nails like regular acrylic powder and instead is essentially a different type of manicure. Acrylics, on the other hand, are made up of large grain acrylic powder mixed with a liquid monomer. This gives the acrylic its strength and creates that really strong, fake nail.
After the nail is coated in the dip powder, typically another 1-2 rounds of base coat + powder are performed to build up color. The manicure is finished off with an activator coat followed by a top coat for shine. The activator reacts with the base coats on the nail and hardens the resin in the powder quickly as well as helping the top coat dry.
