Remove Old Nail Paint
Start by removing the old nail paint. Use cotton balls soaked in Acetone Free Nail Paint Remover only for this purpose. You should not use acetone-based remover as that will dissolve the acrylics over entire nail and cause damage to the acrylic base. Since we do not want to take off acrylics but only the nail paint, so make sure you use non-acetone based nail paint remover.
Once you have removed the nail polish, clean your nails with wipe . You may also wash your hands and soak them dry but do not leave the acrylic nails in water for a long time .
You need a clean surface before we go ahead with filling the gaps. Any leftover dust or bacteria and subsequently covered with acrylic may infect your nail bed.
Is Nail Dipping Powder The Same As Acrylic
Dip Powders and acrylics might have similar polymers but we assure you, they are not the same thing! While acrylic requires monomer to activate, dip powder is activated with glazes so it has absolutely no need for monomer and its odorless! Not to mention, dip powder application is faster than traditional acrylic.

Tip#6 Apply Your Glue Correctly
For extra strength and hold, you want to put a couple of drops of glue on the back of each Fake Nail. From there, its best to saturate your nail beds with glue.
It can be quite tricky to get the right amount because you want a good amount of glue to hold the nail on but not so much that its going to come gushing out of the sides.
Make sure that you place the fake nail as close to your Cuticle as possible you dont want any type of gap. This also helps them to blend in with your Nail Bed.
Once you apply the nail on top you want to firmly hold it in place for a full thirty seconds.
Now, you may be tempted to rush and press down for only a few seconds, but all of my experience points me to suggest you need a minimum of 30 seconds per nail. Set a timer if you need to.

Removing Acrylic Nails At Home
If you got the acrylic nails at the salon right before the coronavirus outbreak, you were faced with having to remove them all on your own. Sure, you have seen your nail tech do it all the time, but youve never done it on your own.
Lets talk about the things you need, first. Get out your:
- Nail file
- Foil and
- Cotton balls.
Thats it you dont need much else to remove your nails. Before you use the acetone, we recommend that you try to file off as much of the acrylic nail as you can.
After that, you can use acetone on cotton balls, which you will wrap with foil around your nail. Let the acetone soak the nail for 15 to 20 minutes for the best results. You can also pour the acetone into a bowl and soak your nails.
However, this can be very harsh on your cuticles and the skin around your nails, so the cotton ball and foil method is better. If youre set on using the bowl method, just try to keep as little of your fingers soaked in acetone as possible.
Once you get the nails out, use a nail buffer or cuticle remover to gently scrape off the remaining acrylic off your nail. If theres a lot of the acrylic left, take out your nail file and try to file the rest off.
If that doesnt as well as you have hoped, consider soaking the nails for another 15 to 20 minutes. Again, its best to use cotton balls and foil.
