I wear contact lenses occasionally and I like to make the nails very long. These two things together, I never had dared before, but soon it should be.

So, my question to all people out there, who wear contact lenses and have long claws at the same time: How do you do it? I think it would be quite difficult. I can still imagine the insertion of the lenses quite good, but what about removing them?

Lipstick

In fact, the insertion with long nails resembles the insertion of lenses with short nails, only that the lens is not on the top of the finger tip during insertion, but slightly below at the surface of the finger.

Precautions To Be Aware Of

How To Take Out Contacts with Long Nails

Its important to practice caution when inserting and removing contact lenses, to avoid damaging your eyes. Here are some precautions to be aware of when taking out contact lenses:

  • Dont pinch too hard. Although pinching the contact lens is one of the easiest ways to remove soft lenses, you risk tearing the lens if you pinch too hard.
  • Be careful near your cornea. Eyes are extremely sensitive, especially to touching, poking, or scratching. When removing your lenses, try to avoid touching your actual eye.
  • Mind your long nails. If you have long nails, you should be extra careful when removing your lenses to avoid scratching the lens or your eye.
  • Always wash your hands. Bacteria can easily find its way to your eye from a dirty finger, which is why its crucial to clean your hands before removing or inserting contact lenses.

The most important thing is to just be as gentle as possible around your eyes when youre putting in and taking out contact lenses.

Contact lenses are a safe, popular alternative to glasses, especially when you practice good contact lens hygiene. However, you should schedule a visit with your eye doctor if you experience any of the following symptoms:

  • eye pain
  • blurred vision
  • eye discharge

These symptoms may indicate an infection, damage to your cornea, or something else that requires medical attention.

Tiktoker Stuns Viewers With Contact Removal Method: ‘it’s Literally That Easy’

Fashionistas who rock long, acrylic nails probably get as many questions as people with tattoos or piercings.

The press-on manicure was popularized by American sprinter Florence Griffith Joyner, AKA Flo-Jo. In 1988, she became the fastest woman of all time all while rocking acrylics. Since then, long nails have been a staple in Black and hip-hop culture.

But they can also be a curiosity to those unfamiliar, the main question being: how do you do anything with your hands?

A TikTok user named Miriam, however, put an even more specific inquiry out into the internet.

I have one request. I want to see somebody with acrylic nails taking their contacts out, Miriam said in a TikTok.

Thats when the user , who was more than qualified with her lengthy blue, glittering nails, stepped up with a brief tutorial.

Finally, its my time to shine. This is my No. 1 long nails life hack, she said.

Boom, baby, it is literally that easy. Always protect the nails and the eyeballs, the TikToker said.

TikTokers were blown away and the hack received over 4.3 million views.

I came here to learn, not to get schooled, Miriam replied in the comment section.

I cant even do it that smoothly with my fingertips, someone wrote.

This is the kind of flex I want to have in my life, another said.

How To Clean And Store Your Contacts

There are two main types of cleaning solutions.

Multipurpose solutions are the most common. They can clean and disinfect your lenses and keep them moist overnight in a case. You can get multipurpose solution for either hard or soft lenses.

Hydrogen peroxide-based solutions are a good choice if you have allergies or are sensitive to chemicals. But they require an extra step. You add a neutralizing disk to convert the solution to saline so it wont sting your eyes.

Its not safe to use saliva, tap water, or even rewetting drops to clean or rinse your lenses. They dont disinfect and could cause an infection.
