Why Should You Switch To Press On Nails
First of all, BUDGET. I dont want to spend my hard-earned money on biweekly manicures. At $35 a pop + tip, it just makes NO sense to keep up with gel . I have more important savings goals and things I want to spend my money on . $6.99-$11.99 for 2 manicures is far more aligned with what Im willing to spend.
Second, gel isnt without its risks. Youre subjecting your skin to UV rays and while the science is inconclusive on the actual risk, Im not taking any chances. If I can avoid unnecessary UV exposure, I will.
And, lastly, time! Now that Ive been doing press on nails for months, I have it down to a science. It takes me 15 minutes start to finish. If I was to go to a nail salon, it could take up to an hour. Seriously, do you need any better reason to switch?!

Ive posted about my press on nail obsession on Insta stories several times over the past few months and, every time, Im asked, do imPRESS press on nails work? I first went down the fake nail rabbit hole when I saw Sherry of Young House Lovesinging the praises of glue on nails in her stories. I tried the Kiss glue on a few times and it went okaybut Im just not enough of a perfectionist for that task. So, I tried Kisss imPRESS press on nails and, from the first day, I knew I had a winner.
Kiss Fantasy Gel Nail Cons
The cons for the KISS Fantasy Gel Nails is that the first day I put the nails on a nail fell off a few hours later. ;The adhesive comes in a package as you can choose to use the nail glue or adhesive tape. ;Again this review is on just using the adhesive tape* not the nail glue. ;I changed the adhesive tape on the thumb nail. ;The next day the other thumb nail came loose and I had to replace the adhesive again. ;On day 3 I felt another nail came loose and so I just removed the nail and added a new adhesive. ;I decided to try these nails over a long weekend in which I had no plans. ;I did not want to be out and about and have a nail go missing! Embarrissing! Overall the nails are very thin which look natural but sort of look like acrylic. ;The nail lays right into your natural nail without popping off. ;These were also a bit longer and very easy to remove. ;The adhesive on these are not as strong as the imPRESS nails but I was able to do dishes and clean, etc. without the nails falling off.

What Dont You Like About Impress Nails
As I mentioned above, I still have to get used to the feeling of something heavy on my nail, but this is only a problem for the 3 fingers I have a studded nail design on.;
Also, as I chat about in my video, before I re-applied a new coat of clear gel on the underside, a couple of my fake nails were ever so slightly detaching from my nail. Not enough to notice BUT it turned into a hair trap. As in, everything I ran my fingers through my hair, a strand would be trapped under my fake nail.
But thats literally the only thing I have to complain about. I love my imPRESS nails and will be using these for many years to come!;

How To Impress With Impress Nails
I love fashion, but I dont always love the prices. Being a college student you definitely learn how to make life work on a budget, and over the course of 2 years, Ive learned how to keep myself looking good while also keeping my bank account looking good too. Like most girls, I love having my nails done. I hate painting them with regular nail polish though because it takes forever to dry and they often chip off two days later. Acrylic nails and gel nails are great, but too much upkeep and are too expensive. My nails grow really fast so when I try to keep up with getting my nails done Im spending 25-35 dollars every two weeks, and for a girl who has to pay for school books and classes, that adds up. I decided I needed to find a solution. So I tried out imPRESS press-on manicure nails and I LOVED them. These nails are absolutely amazing and a lifesaver for girls on a budget. Each pack of nails runs from 5-7 dollars and last up to 2 weeks. They also come in a variety of colors and shapes.;
Heres how they work: You get a set of 30 nails and 6 accent nails. The steps to apply the nails are super easy. First, wash your hands. Next, use the prep pad to clean off your nail. Then, peel off the adhesive on the back of the nail and stick it on your nail. Once youve pressed on all of your nails, youre done! Its such an easy process and Ive never had any trouble with the nails peeling off.

Here Are My Best Tips For The Impress Nails Application:
- When picking a nail for each finger, pick a size thats the exact width of your nail or slightly smaller. They will stay on longer if not touching your skin on the side of the nail.
- Make sure to use the alcohol wipe that comes with the packet to clean nails before applying Impress Nails.
- To get the most natural look, take the tab off, and press it right up to and under your cuticle.
- For best adhesion, spend a few minutes just pressing the nails to your nails, going along each finger and pressing. I will sometimes apply mine while watching TV, and just keep pressing for awhile.
- Apply them before bed! Then they will set up better while sleeping since you wont be using your hands. I noticed that Im more likely to have them stay on longer when I do that.
- File the ends a bit if there are rough spots after application. Theres a small nail file that comes in the kit, but its good to have a bigger size on hand.
- Be careful with your nails. I still take a hot bath every night and do lots of dishes, but Im careful not to use my nails to open things.
- If a nail pops off, keep some nail glue on hand, and apply a couple of drops to put it back on.
- Removal is actually pretty easy. Peel them off starting at the sides, and the glue comes off pretty easily. I never use acetone or anything.

My Experience With Impress Nails Has Been Great
Ive been wearing Impress Nails for about the last couple of years on and off and they work perfectly for what I need. I consider it my tried and true method for achieving a perfect manicure every time. And these are not your moms press-on nails from the 80s, promise! LOL!
If theres any drawback, the ridges can get stuck from time to time. If you run your fingers through your hair a lot, your strands can occasionally get stuck near the ridges by your nail beds, which is hard to get used to at first.
I love the modern short, square shape, and they look more natural to me compared to other longer glue-on nails. Theres a large selection of widths, so if you have wide or skinny nail beds, there are lots of options to fit any nail size.
Its also worth noting if you want to skip the accent-colored nail designs, there are enough nails to keep them all the same color.

Get Some Nail Glue So You Can Reuse A Nail That Pops Off
Ok I know I just said theres no glue required, and thats true, but one trick Ive been doing lately is using nail glue to reuse a nail that pops off.
and works great. Sometimes a nail will get snagged on something and come off, or a nail will start to lift at the base .
If it pops off Ill just put it back on with nail glue and that way Im not having to use a brand new nail that I can use instead for a future mani.
And if a nail starts to lift at the bottom Ill just add a drop of nail glue and that solves the issue!
Ive also started using nail glue right off the bat when I apply my imPRESS nails in addition to the adhesive already on the nails, and this also helps your mani last longer.

A little over a year ago, one of my best friends introduced me to press on nails and Ive never turned back! I want to share how to apply Impress Nails and why I love them. First things first, Ive never been a salon nail person. Despite loving pretty nails, paying for painted nails or acrylics always felt like money that could be better spent somewhere else.
