What You Must Know Before Using Colloidal Silver

If you plan on using the first method, the foot soak, to treat your toenail fungus then you must be aware that it can have higher costs than the second method. This is because performing the soak uses more colloidal silver to create the solution.

Since this is a topical treatment, colloidal silver does not interact or interfere with other medications. However, it is recommended to talk to your doctor or dermatologist before considering any treatments for such infections.

How Effective Is Colloidal Silver In Treating Toenail Fungus

A 2008 study carried out by the Kyungpook National University of Daegus Department of Microbiology in Korea confirms that colloidal silver can treat toenail fungus. The study, published in the Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology demonstrates the effectiveness of colloidal silver as a treatment solution against fungal pathogens.

The authors of this study claim that colloidal silvers antifungal properties make it very powerful in treating fungal infections. Besides, it has minor side effects and allergies since its 100% natural.

The study came to this conclusion after focusing primarily on Candida and Trichophyton, two of the most common pathogens that cause fungal infections. The study also confirms that one can use colloidal silver to treat a wide variety of fungal infections such as athletes foot.

When compared to other treatment options for toenail fungus, the study found that colloidal silver is equally effective. The study also found that this treatment solution is more powerful than some popular antifungal drugs. Therefore, those affected by toenail fungus can use colloidal silver to treat toenail fungus.

Concord Foot Doctor Explains How To Eliminate Toenail Fungus Naturally

Toenail fungus is a common yet frustrating problem. You can catch it from using a shared shower, walking barefoot at a public pool, or even getting a pedicure. It can grow quickly under your toenail and cause the nail to thicken and crumble.

If the toenail fungus is severe, you should visit your local foot doctor for treatment. However, you can also try a natural toenail fungus treatment to solve the issue without chemicals or medicines. Here are six of the best natural remedies:

1. White Vinegar

White vinegar other wise known as Acetic Acid can help eliminate fungus when diluted in lukewarm water. The acidity of vinegar creates an environment that most fungus find in hospital and may help eliminate a fungal toenail infection.

2. Listerine and White Vinegar

The thymol and menthol in Listerine evaporate quickly and cause dehydration of superficial fungus infecting a toe nail plate. Soak for 15-20 minutes 3-4 days per week.

3. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is a popular home remedy for many skin infections, including fungal infections. Dab a few drops of the oil onto your toenails twice a day, or mix a few drops of oil with some water and soak your entire foot.

4. Urea Paste

You can buy over-the-counter urea paste to dissolve the infected portion of the toenail. Then, use an over-the-counter antifungal cream to prevent infection in the area. Before you do this, though, you should consult your local foot doctor.

5. Pau Darco Tea

6. Vicks VapoRub

The Lavender Colloidal Silver Topical Gel Cured My Toenail Fungus

Have you ever watched the British sitcom “Keeping Up Appearances”? It’s very funny. Richard, the husband of the woman who is all consumed with keeping up appearances, gets athlete’s foot – a fungus – he tells her. Hyacinth is appalled at this and says “No one can know!!! Only common people get a fungus. We’ll say you have gout. Upper class people have gout.”I developed a nail fungus on two toes after surgery a few years ago. The podiatrist who did the surgery just said “there’s fungus among us’. Really helpful. Botched the surgery too. When I went to see the orthopedic surgeon because a bone is sticking out of the bottom of my foot, he looked at the x-rays and said, “I have no idea what or why this was done to your foot.” I’ve been applying the cream once a day. It’s almost gone. The thick part is going away and the new nail is coming in normally. It would occasionally itch and burn. That’s gone. But the healthy nail is what I can’t believe. It was SO thick and icky looking. It’s wonderful. I thought I was stuck with this for life. Another doctor had told me that once you get this, you can never get rid of it. But it looks like she was wrong.

UPRx : Antifungal

I recently received an interesting report from a member of my Colloidal Silver Secrets Community on Facebook whos invented a unique, and relatively quick and easy way to cure a nasty case of toenail fungus using colloidal silver. Now, theres no reason whatsoever to live with toenail fungus, thanks to this safe, easy and effective method!

Ive reported on colloidal silver being used to heal toenail fungus, both in my book, The Ultimate Colloidal Silver Manual, and in my 60-minute DVD, the Colloidal Silver Secrets Video.

The process Ive reported on is a bit tedious and time-consuming, and uses up a LOT of colloidal silver. But it works like a charm if you stick with it.

Fortunately, a member of my Colloidal Silver Secrets Community on Facebook named Diane has just reported a much simpler, quicker and more efficient way to heal toenail fungus using colloidal silver.

First, the Old Method

Usually, a person using the old method would pour a significant amount of colloidal silver into a square glass baking pan, and then soak the entire foot with the infected nail in the silver solution for as many as 20 to 30 minutes a day.

This might go on daily, for as long as a month. And it can be quite boring, so get a good book out, or set your glass baking pan down in front of your couch so you can watch TV while soaking your foot and infected nails.

So owners of colloidal silver generators find this method of curing toenail fungus to be very reasonable, in terms of cost.

Colloidal Silver Beats Fungal Infections Fast

Im frequently asked if theres any clinical evidence that colloidal silver is helpful at eradicating stubborn fungal infections.

The answer is a great, big YES!

Theres plenty of clinical evidence for the effectiveness of colloidal silver against fungal pathogens. And lots of anecdotal evidence for it, as well.

Heres what you need to know

Hi, Steve Barwick here, for The Silver Edge

Fungal infections are some of the hardest infections to get rid of, often requiring weeks or even months of treatment with harsh antifungal drugs known to cause liver damage and other side effects.

But colloidal silver is VERY effective against fungal pathogens. And when used properly it has none of the potentially serious side effects of the prescription antifungal drugs.

Numerous Clinical Studies

Indeed, numerous clinical studies going back to the 1970s have demonstrated the profound effectiveness of colloidal silver against a wide variety of fungal pathogens. For example:

At the above link you can read the classic, 1976 clinical study by Dr. Robert O. Becker, M.D. and colleagues, who demonstrated that electrically generated silver ions atless than 2 ppm concentration have greater fungicidal properties than much more concentrated silver compounds such as silver sulfadiazine and silver nitrate.

This study is further discussed at this link.

They concluded,

Carcinogenesis Mutagenesis Impairment Of Fertility

Long-term dermal toxicity studies of 24 months duration in rats and 18 months in mice with concentrations of silver sulfadiazine three to ten times the concentration in Thermazene Cream, 1% revealed no evidence of carcinogenicity.

Pregnancy Category BA reproductive study has been performed in rabbits at doses up to three to ten times the concentration of silver sulfadiazine in Thermazene Cream and has revealed no evidence of harm to the fetus due to silver sulfadiazine. There are, however, no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Because animal reproduction studies are not always predictive of human response, this drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly justified, especially in pregnant women approaching or at term.

Nursing MothersIt is not known whether Thermazene Cream is excreted in human milk. However, sulfonamides are known to be excreted in human milk and all sulfonamides derivatives are known to increase the possibility of kernicterus. Because of the potential for serious adverse reactions in nursing infants from sulfonamides, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue the drug, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother.

Pediatric UseSafety and effectiveness in children have not been established.

How Should I Use Silvadene

Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not use Silvadene in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.

Wash your hands before and after applying silver sulfadiazine cream.

The person applying silver sulfadiazine to burn wounds should wear sterile disposable gloves. Take care to keep the treatment area as clean as possible to prevent further infection.

Clean the area to be treated as directed by your doctor. Apply enough silver sulfadiazine to cover the affected area evenly. This medicine should be applied in a layer about one 16th of an inch thick, or 1.6 millimeters.

If needed, apply more cream to replace any medicine that has come off on bandages, clothing, or bed linens. Reapply the cream after bathing or water therapy.

Silver sulfadiazine cream is usually applied 1 or 2 times daily. Burn wounds must be kept covered with this medicine at all times. Treated skin areas can be left uncovered, or you may use a gauze bandage if directed by your doctor.

While using Silvadene, you may need frequent blood tests. Your kidney function may also need to be tested.

Use this medicine for the full prescribed length of time. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cleared. Skipping doses may also increase your risk of further infection that is resistant to antibiotics.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
