Sure enough, a little bit of research proved that there’s actually a handful of ways one can remove nail polish sans remover. And even better, you probably have most of the necessary materials right in your bathroom or kitchen. The writing on the wall? Why Not Just Use Nail Polish Remover
My adventure into natural nail polish removers started out of necessity. When I didn’t have any nail polish remover in the bathroom cabinet, I decided to get creative with what I had on hand to clean up my unsightly fingertips.
Once I started working with other methods to remove my polish, I realized a few things that I was happily missing out on. The odor of common acetone-based nail polish removers would sometimes give me a headache. The US National Library of Medicine says, although acetone occurs naturally in plants, trees, volcanic gasses, and forest fires, breathing in the solvent can sometimes cause adverse symptoms including nausea, eye irritation, and headaches.
Also, in my experience, commercial removers would leave my nail beds dry and brittle. That’s because acetone in traditional nail polish removers can cause your nails to soften, according to the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. With these factors in mind, I’ve decided it’s best for me to go the natural route for my nail care.
Acetone Can You Use 100 Acetone At Home To Remove Acrylic Nails
If you are interested in doing away with your thick and unruly acrylic nails, then you should read this article because you are about to learn about the uses of acetone as a nail remover.
Removing your acrylic nails at a salon can often be very expensive and time-consuming so is usually recommended by many professionals.
Personally, I would say that if you dont like going to a nail salon for acrylic nails removal than probably the best way to get rid of them at home is to take them off at home.
If you want to go the easy way, simply soak the cotton bud in acetone and warm water and then try to pry them off.
Id suggest that you use the pry tool to do this process because the cotton will break off fairly easily if it is used to try to pry off the acrylics with a normal nail file or a pair of pliers without using an acetone-mixed bud.
Once youve successfully removed your acrylic nails at home, make sure that you wash your hands and your nails and pat them dry. Dont use a towel to rub your hands together to try to clean your hands since you could end up spreading the Acetone onto your hands.
