Impress Nails Part 2 How to take off the Adhesive and Use Nail Glue

There are a few things you would be needing for the procedure.

  • Tweezers

Tweezers are pointy and needle-like and they are used to pick things that are too small to be picked by your fingers. To add beads or stones or anything you can stick to your nails, tweezers are your best bet for precise application.

  • Cuticle Remover

These are used to scrape away remaining bits of dry cuticle off the nail plate

  • A Nail File

Its used to shape the edges of your nails.

  • Cotton Wool Or Cotton Pad Wipes

These, when soaked with nail polish removers, are used to remove nail polish

  • Nail Polish Remover

They are alcohol-based solvent used to clean off nail polish.

After opening your press on nails , you can decide to lay them out. I usually lay them out where I can see them so I can easily pick the one I want to use.

One thing I really admire about imPRESS is that it comes with freebies that can assist you in doing your nails. I call them freebies cos theyre stuffs you would probably have to purchase yourself if you didnt have them already. So you get freebies such as a customized nail dirt remover, a prep pad which contains alcohol already and basically does what a cotton pad and nail polish remover will do. It also comes with a mini nail file in case you dont have any. Lastly, it comes with a manual. Now, you guys know why I cant shut up about imPRESS.

Kiss Fantasy Gel Nail Cons

The cons for the KISS Fantasy Gel Nails is that the first day I put the nails on a nail fell off a few hours later. The adhesive comes in a package as you can choose to use the nail glue or adhesive tape. Again this review is on just using the adhesive tape* not the nail glue. I changed the adhesive tape on the thumb nail. The next day the other thumb nail came loose and I had to replace the adhesive again. On day 3 I felt another nail came loose and so I just removed the nail and added a new adhesive. I decided to try these nails over a long weekend in which I had no plans. I did not want to be out and about and have a nail go missing! Embarrissing! Overall the nails are very thin which look natural but sort of look like acrylic. The nail lays right into your natural nail without popping off. These were also a bit longer and very easy to remove. The adhesive on these are not as strong as the imPRESS nails but I was able to do dishes and clean, etc. without the nails falling off.

How Long Do They Last

I asked on Instagram, and the majority of people said they usually last up to 10 days for them. There were a few people who said they only lasted a few days. But most people said that if you rough up your nails a little and dont get them wet for a few hours after putting them on, that they will last for 10-14 days.

A few of mine fell off during the 10 days I wore them, but I found it was really simple to either put on a replacement nail or glue the nail back on with nail glue.

If you dont want to use glue, tape is a great alternative. You can use regular double-sided tape or fashion tape. I dont have double sided tape or nail glue, so how can I even put the glue on my nails? You could also apply a coat of clear nail polish and just attach it.

imPress Press On Nails

Press-on nails have come a long way since I last used them in middle school. So Im sharing an imPRESS nails review, with all the deets on where I buy them and tips for how I get them to last up to two weeks.

Ive never had great nails. I have girlfriends who can grow these gorgeous, long nails that they just paint themselves and it looks like a freaking salon manicure. That is just not my truth. No matter how much collagen I consume, my nails always break.

And I hate going to nail salons .

I know some people love going to get their nails done and its like a treat for them, and if thats you, good for you girl. Treat yourself to a mani after quarantine is over.

But for me, it just drives me crazy how long it takes to sit there and I cant even multitask. It feels like such a waste of time to me. Plus, going to nail salons is a really expensive habit!

Doing my own nails at home with an imPRESS manicure solves both of these issues for me because its cheapyou can find them on sale at Target for $6, and current styles on imPRESS site range from $8 11, depending on if they have embellishments or not.

And each set includes 30 nails, so I can get two full manicures from one box. Depending on the size of your fingers, you may end up with some odd sizing leftover .

But do the maththats ~$3 a manicure.

And its so quick and easy. Start to finish, it takes me 10 minutes to apply my imPRESS nails! Such a time saver.

How To Apply Press On Nails

1. Prep your nails the same way you would for a manicure.

2. Clean them, trim them, file them. Push back and trim your cuticles. Be careful with your cuticles please!

3. When trimming your nails leave a bit of length to make it slightly easier to apply the press on nails.

4. Arrange your press on nails to match your natural nails. They come in different sizes for different fingers. Most of them have the numbers on the back, so my advice is to write them down the first time you size yourself, and then every next time matching them will be easier and faster. Most kits have a pair that will fit perfectly. However, once you run out of those, you will have to trim down the longer ones.

5. You can choose between different shapes like oval, round and square shapes and colors. If you choose French manicure you can paint over any nail polish. It can look really natural if you choose the right color and the shade. And one important advice is not to forget to match your nail shape with color, because if you match for example almond shape and too colorful look this sometimes can look too extravagant.

Sometimes less is more! When you choose press on nails, you can get real nail art. There can be so many creative and interesting looks

Be advised, some people have had nail damage due to the glue. You may use a strengthening base coat to protect your natural nails.

Should I Try Kiss Press

Kiss Nails are a good way to give your nails an instant makeover. However, if you’re a parent of younger children, you’re going to find they’re not practical to wear all the time. There are just too many hands-on activities you have to do with your kids. For others, Kiss Nails is a better solution, as long as you only want to wear them for the recommended seven days before putting on a new set. Read about my experience spending a week trying Kiss Press-On Nails.

What Are Press On Nails

Press-on nails are a type of fake nails that come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and styles. They are usually made of acrylic or plastic material. Depending on the brand you purchase, the ingredients they use could vary.

Regardless, they can all be attached to natural nails in a variety of ways.

The great thing about press on nails is that they come in a variety of designs and styles. Back in the day, press on nails might just come in a solid color .

Nowadays, there are lots to chose from. Some may also have glitter or rhinestones attached to them.

Also, there are sets that give you a variety of designs for each nail but they have one cohesive theme. Its just like acrylic nails or a nail art manicure.

Additionally, they come in different sizes and you can further file them down to make sure that they fit your nails perfectly.

The perfect fit will make it difficult for people to decipher whether youre wearing press-on nails or if you just had a perfect manicure.

How To Make Press

Impress nail

You can make your press-on nails last longer by following these 4 simple tips:

  • Tip 1: Whether using clear polish under the glue or not, always make sure to use rubbing alcohol to clean off any remaining residue and natural oils before applying.
  • Tip 2: Use a strong adhesive nail glue by applying it both to the back of the press-on nail and your natural nail.
  • Tip 3: Put pressure on every nail for 30 seconds as you are applying. This lets the adhesive spread across the full surface thus ensuring a stronger bond. This will, in turn, make press-on nails stick better.
  • Tip 4: Do not wash your hands or come in contact with water for at least 2 hours after application to help your press-on nails stay on longer. I find that doing this overnight is the easiest .
  • Tip 5: Use a top hardener coat to make your nails look polished and help them stick better. This also has the added benefit of hardening the actual nail surface which makes it more durable.

How To Remove Press On Nails To Reuse Them

Even though you can reuse press on nails in theory, it requires a little bit of work on your end. Thankfully, some caution and patience on your end will be well worth it when you are able to reuse your favorite press on nails. This is especially true when it comes to the removal process. Not only do you have to be careful not to damage your natural nails, but you also have to be careful in order to avoid damaging your press on nails as well if you want to reuse them.

So, here are some tips and tricks on how to properly remove press on nails that will leave them in good enough shape for you to use again:

  • Perhaps the gentlest method of removing press on nails is to use warm water with a little bit of soap. You will need to soak your nails in the water for 20 or so minutes, or until your nails start to loosen up. From there, you can gently pull off the fake nails, clean them off, and store them for later use.
  • If you are looking for a quick and easy way to remove your press on nails and arent afraid of some chemicals, then you might want to try the acetone method. This is how most fake nails and nail polishes are removed. This method works best if the acetone is slightly warm. You can then soak your nails in the solution for five to ten minutes before the press on nails either fall right off or you are easily able to take them off.

Can You Reuse Press On Nails

There are so many reasons why press on nails are one of the hottest nail products on the market right now. Despite what you may think, todays press on nails are totally different from the hot pink variety that you loved as a teenager.

These days, press on nails can have the look and feel of a professional salon-applied acrylic nail! With tons of different styles, its not hard to find a variety that you love and that works for your life and style.

We understand that you probably have a lot of questions about press on nails and we are here to answer them! As it turns out, press on nails are the product that you need to use if you are looking to get the best bang for your buck.

Why Won’t My Nail Glue Stick

IMPRESS GEL MANICURE PRESS ON NAILS | MY COLLECTION HOW TO USE | OVER 40 BEAUTY

When applying press on nails to a natural nail, you want to make sure that there is as little movement as possible during the pressing process. Hold it for 10-15 seconds and see what happens.

If you used shine, you may need to remove it. Glue is usually best put on a rough nail, so file it and try again. Smooth nails don’t keep the glue on as well. If you have oily nails, wipe them.

Nail shape is another factor. If there is very little contact between the press on nail and the natural nail, you will be in trouble. This isn’t a growing out your nail problem, more of a nail arch issue.

Apply nail glue to a dry nail and your press on nail will stay on longer.
