How to REMOVE Color Street nails

Price $13

Shipping was also $3 making these. If I had bought 3 I couldve gotten one set for free, putting them closer to the $10 dollar range .

I thought Id try the ACTUAL Color Street if I was going to share alternatives with you guys.

After trying Lily And Fox these were an absolute DREAM to put on.

SO easy to get them off the paper and apply to my nail.

I actually think they were easier than Incoco.

They smoothed out so nicely, and they dont feel like rubber on my fingers.

I had heard they were of a higher quality than Incoco, but honestly, after I put them on they feel pretty much the same. If you buy through a color street rep you will get a much larger variety of nails to try, but the nails themselves seem pretty similar to Incoco.

Also, you do get more nails with Color Street than you do with Incoco so that is a benefit!

Keep in mind that they say you can only use them when you open them. Thats because these CAN dry out. I put mine in a ziplock and cross my fingers, but a lot of my friends use their flat iron to seal the packet for their 2nd use.

I could also use my food sealer. but that seems like a lot.

I also liked that they include a larger variety of nail sizes. They had one much bigger than my thumb and they have one that is smaller than my pinky. Which, is nice.

These seem to wear very similar to Incoco. I noticed some chipping on the ends right away. The strips I chose were darker in color, and I dont notice cracking .

Color Street Vs Incoco And Coconut: Whats The Difference

Nail strips are becoming more and more popular. Color Street nails changed the game by making 100% nail polish strips. You can read all about them in Kristys full and honest review.

Did you know that Color Street has a sister company named Incoco? I sure didnt! We got a comment from a reader on the Color Street Review post telling us that Color Street used to be Incoco so we decided to look into things.

Turns out she was right. We looked into Incoco more and thought it would be fun to do a review/comparison of the two products but it turns out there are three products: Color Street, Incoco, and Coconut. So you get a review of all three.

First, Ill go through the similarities and difference of the 3 products on paper. Then Ill give you my review based on trying the nail polish strips myself.

How To Remove Color Street Nails With Hot Water

  • Take warm water in a small bowl.
  • In small plastic bags, add 1-2 Tbs nail polish remover.
  • Place your hand inside the plastic bag to submerge your nails in the remover.
  • Lower the hand in the warm water bowl . The water pressure helps the polished nail remover to hug your nail.
  • Rub your nail from outside the bag with your other hand. Use your nails to scratch the glitter carefully. Do not force it if the glitter doesnt scrape off.
  • Allow 30 seconds to soak and try again.
  • Repeat the same process on other hand.

Don’t Miss: What Color Should I Get My Nails

My Glitter Nails Had Pieces Rip Off At The Tip When I Applied Them Why Did This Happen

Some of the glitter designs with chunky glitter can have larger glitter pieces hang over the edge of your nail when you apply them. If this happens use nail clippers to cut the glitter at the nail edge rather than trying to file it away.

If you are going to use a file to remove this glitter then be sure to go in a downward motion and not back and forth. This will help prevent the file from pulling at the glitter and tearing pieces away.

Color Street For The Win

In my opinion, Color Street nails are the winner in the Sister Company challenge. There is no comparison when it comes to the style choices Color Street has. The nail polish strips themselves seems to be better quality and last longer. In this case, you really do get what you paid for.

I also like how helpful Color Street Stylist are. You get much better costumer service with a stylist. If I had had a problem with my nail polish strips like I had with the Coconut brand, I know my stylist would have replace them for free.

Like I said before, I will try Incoco and Coconut nails again for a pedicure. Ill update the post once Ive tried them out on my toes. I do think the price is great on both so they are worth a try.

Review Of Dashing Diva Nail Strips

    Price: $7

I found these in Walmart. I love that theyre available there. They are also available online.

Putting them on went well, except I felt like they didnt have very many large strips and I had to go with a smaller strip for my thumb.

Easy to reposition and nail still stuck well.

The strip was harder to file off I tried filing, but next time I think Id cut them with a nail clipper to see if it works better.

These strips seem thicker and more rubbery than the other brands. I think these are more gel nail strips .

The strips stayed on SO well. No chips, no cracking. Just my nail growing out til its awkward so I took them off. You can see in the picture above (top is day 1 and the bottom is at two weeks I had hardly ANY chipping and they looked great!

I used just a drop of cuticle oil and just pulled it off with a cuticle stick . I did also try nail polish remover. It didnt work quite as easily and I felt like it left extra goo on my nail.

Overall I didnt like removal as much as I liked the Incoco. I feel like it might not be AS healthy for your nail, but I havent tried them enough times to be sure

But, the nails looked better close up and I like all the options they have for accent nails. I was able to use quite a few of the nails on both the left and right of my hand, but not the for my thumbs. The strips dont seem quite as wide.

They also have a pretty good variety of nails if you shop in their online store, and I like all the accent nail options.

    Color Street Reviews From Customers

You want to know the customer reviews to see whether the brand actually gives the service it claims to offer. This section of our Color Street review will examine some of the most popular customer opinions to show you what to expect from this company. We first looked at Knoji, which scores the brand 4. stars based on 31 color street reviews.

Knoji also reports that customers appreciate the customer service team and highlights the strengths of Knoji as good dependability. On Amazon, the Color Street Rio Red

nail polish strip has 3. stars from 19 global ratings. And we found useful reviews where buyers on that platform suggest you buy from other independent sources or directly from the brands website instead of Amazon.

This is because most of the vendors sell fake products that do not work and the original color strips. For instance, one reviewer states,

DONT buy them on Amazon. Buy them through a consultant. Theyre amazing. My friends mom sells them, and they are fantastic. But the poor reviews are probably for botched sets from sellers that arent actually consultants. Youll love them! It took me ONE try to put them on correctly. It was fast and easy. They look like I pod a fortune, but theyre only like $12bucks!

    Review Of Luna Nail Wraps

Mardi Gras Nails from Color Street

    Price: $6ish

BTW use code PULLINGCURLS to save 10% at Luna Nails!

Putting the nail wraps on was a simple process. They feel VERY similar to Color Street and Incoco.

The one issue is that the top part of the nail doesnt tear off. We had to use nail clippers to cut around it. It was also a bit harder to get the backing and the clear sheet to tear off, but nothing too hard to handle.

Also, in comparison with Color Street, I couldnt use my finger nail to tear off the nail strip at my cuticle, it was a bit too thick. That being said Ive had a hard time with that on all the brands.

Wear was pretty good, shows some of the cute glitter ones I have and how they lasted .

    Luna Nail Pros

SO many cute colors and patterns and she gets new ones really frequently

    Free, fast shipping

    Lasted well, very little chipping

Came off easily with mineral nail polish remover. Some people still use an acetone nail polish remover for these too.

Small business, which is always awesome to support!

    Luna Nail Cons

Feel a bit more rubbery than color street they also seem thicker .

Application process was a bit harder than Color Street doesnt come off the backing and the top clear cover doesnt come-off as easily.

How To Cut Off The Nail Wrap

With an of them, youll need to cut it off the end of your nail somehow.

With all of the brands, I preferred clipping the ends off often taking a bit of my nail off with it.

I know they say to wrap it around your nail and then use the filing board to file it off. But that always left me with jagged ends, I thought.

I already dont love them for the first 24 hours or so, but using a nail clipper helps a lot.

Do Color Street Nails Cause Peeling

Color street nails should not cause natural nails to peel.

If you have unhealthy nails that are prone to peeling to begin with, color street is not going to help them.

But if your healthy nails start peeling after using color street then its probably because you used a remover with acetone in it.

It is the acetone in the remover and not the polish strips that make nails dry out, split and peel.

Switch to an acetone-free remover and you should start to see an improvement.

Also, never, ever peel off the strips or youll peel half your nails off too!

  • DO NOT PEEL THEM OFF YOUR NAILS!!!
  • Yes, I shouted that! If you peel your polish off your nails, you WILL do damage to your nails. Period. That is true if you use dry polish strips like Color Street, or regular polish. It will also be true if you are using other nail products.

I previously posted about how another brand of nail wraps I used to use did damage to my nails. While some of that may be due to the product itself, I think more of the issue was that you peeled them off if they didnt come off on their own. Usually, I would have to peel off at least 2-3 each time, but even when the other ones fell off, they were bringing a layer of nail with them

Another way to remove your polish is to use the jar-style removers where you put your finger in, move it around, and the polish comes off. This works well too with most polish types, including Color Street.

No matter what kind of polish remover you use, there are different techniques you can use to remove your Color Street nails, just like any other regular polish.

Lily And Fox Vs Color Street

Removing Color Street Nail Strips in 2 minutes.

Color Street seems like the top dog of nail polish strips. They are the first to come out with a much easier application process while still keeping manicures and pedicures lasting for 10-14 days. They really changed the game of nail polish strips.

But just because they were the first, doesnt necessarily make them the best. More and more companies are coming out with their own nail wraps. Today, well be comparing newer company, Lily and Fox to Color Street.

How To Remove Color Street Nail Polish Strips

The first thing that you need to remember with any nail polish removal is that you shouldnt EVER peel off your nail polish. Fingernails are made up of tiny layers. When you peel off nail polish, you peel off those thin layers of your fingernails. I once had a client in the salon who would peel off her gel polish regularly and her nails would feel almost fuzzy from all of the breakage that would happen. DONT peel off any nail polish, ever!

My next tip is to use a quality nail polish remover. Not all nail polish removers are created equally. If you feel like your nails are damaged, chances are, your nail polish remover could have done it. Nail polish remover can be really hard on your nails.

Acetone nail polish definitely takes nail polish off quickly, but it can be extremely damaging on your nails. The problem is that most non-acetone nail polishes out there are really wimpy and dont take nail polish off very easily, especially when it comes to the magical staying power of Color Street nail polish strips.
