Tips for Doing Ombre Nails perfectly

    • Make sure you have a smooth base coat that is completely dry.
    • You can alter the length of the gradient by using the toothpick
    • The sponge that you are using had to be dipped in water and squeezed semi-dry. This will prevent the excess absorption of paint in your sponge.
    • The base coat has to be selected carefully as that will determine the final effect. If you choose a darker gradient, then the base coat will have to be preferably light. Whereas if the gradient is light, then a pastel pink or clear base coat will enhance the effect.
    • You can add a teeny tiny bit of glitter to enhance the look.
    • If your nails are short, then use a lighter shade for the gradient which will make your nails look longer.
    • For longer nails, anything works fine. You are free to experiment with any shade.
    • Dont use any other embellishment on the ombre nails as it might kill the look.

    Activate Buff And Finish

Nail Art / Nail Designs ? on Instagram: Subtle glitter ...

One of the best parts of a step-by-step guide to ombre nails using dip powder is reaching the last step and seeing the final product. You will need to apply an activator to the nail. Make sure to apply this thoroughly over the full nail, then wait three minutes for it to harden. The activation process is important because, without this, the nail will not dry properly. After you have added the activator, file and shape the nail a bit more.

Next, you will need to buff out the nail. Once you have completed all these steps, you should clean the nails by either washing them or using alcohol wipes. This makes sure the nails are completely clean for the final step. You can then apply a coat of Step 4 Sealer over the entire nail. Give it three minutes, and repeat. And just like that, you have completed your ombre dip powder nails!

Shop around special retailers for dip powder products to make sure you get the best quality options. This will make your process all the better and will ensure you are working with non-harmful products.

The Basic Gradient Using Cosmetic/ Make

Voila! Your own vanity kit can help save the day. Your cosmetic or make-up sponge can now double as your ombre nail art tool.

Likewise, if you have run out of a make-up sponge, just go to your kitchen cabinet and get a fresh dishwashing sponge which you can simply cut into small flat sponges.

Still, no sponge found? You can also use your eyebrow applicator to help apply the colors. The use of the cosmetic sponge can help you achieve the ombre nails that involve 2 to 4 varying shades.

Here are some basic steps in bagging the gradient nails you want using a make-up sponge. First, make sure all your materials are within arms reach to avoid a disaster and achieve your nail art success. Next, apply a base coat.

After that, simply paint your color onto the sponge in horizontal gradient sets. Then, gently dab the painted sponge onto your nails. Wait for the first coat to dry for at least 3 minutes, and then re-apply. You may also do more than three coats if you desire.

Lastly, apply a top coat to polish the rough edges of your ombre nails. Glossy or matte finish, we leave the choice to you.

How To Do The Ombre Nails Effect In Two Steps

Many people complicate the Ombre manicure. In fact, using a sponge, and blending the contrasting colors on the sponge before applying them on the nails, you can do this nail art in just two steps.

Here is how to do it:

After the white base color, get your sponge and cut it into a square so that it is the width and length of your nails and the sponge should be flat. You do not want too much of the sponge on your nails as it will spoil the gradient.

    A. Apply a generous amount of each color on the sponge, in strips, immediately next to each other to cover the entire little square sponge. The colors should touch at the edge.

    B. Line the nail and the painted sponge and start dabbing/padding it along the nail so that the colors are transferred from the sponge to the nails. You can repeat this step if necessary until you get the desired effect on the nail.

You will repeat steps A and B for each nail. The same sponge can be used through out .

After you are done with all the nails. Remove any polish on the skin surrounding the nails by using a nail polish remover. Dip a Q-tip in the nail polish remover and use it to clean up all the edges of the nail.

Finish off with a Topcoat. Let the design dry completely and secure it by sealing with a topcoat on all the nails. The topcoat protects and prolongs the life of your nail polish. Plus it gives your manicure a shiny finish.

Here is a Video of her explaining that method.

    Tips:

    Four: Apply A Transparent Layer

Apply another nude coat to your nail, this time using a slightly more transparent polish. For this, we love the shade Flower Girl, but another option is to simply mix your nude shade with a clear top coat for a more transparent finish. Take this shade around three-quarters of the way down your nail, before going back in with your brush to blend it out, then cure.

Choose Colors And Apply To Sponge

As the base layer nears complete dryness, you can take the time to help your client decide what colors and style they would like to go for with their ombre nails.

Once the base coat is dry and the colors have been chosen, you can add each color directly onto the sponge in overlapping rows. It is important to make sure there are no gaps between the colors in order to give your client the sleek and professional finish they are looking for.
