If youre a regular reader, youve probably cottoned on to the fact that Im a little bit obsessed with the gel nail kit I got for Christmas: mostly because I just cant seem to stop talking about it, dammit. I promise this will be my last word on the subject , but in my previous posts on gel manicures, I talked a bit about the importance of looking after your nails, and giving them a rest in between manicures, so I thought today Id show you how Ive been doing that. I dont find the polish itself to be damaging, but the removal processcan be if youre not careful, so when I got my kit, I also decided to invest in a couple of products namely OPI Nail Envy and Avoplex Cuticle Oil to try to keep my nails strong and healthy. Heres what Ive been using between my gel manicures
My nails are pretty healthy, but my cuticles are an absolute mess, so Im willing to pay a bit more for a product which claims to be able to fix them. So far, I havent found the perfect treatment, but I think Avoplex Cuticle oil this is probably the best Ive tried: not only does it smell gorgeous, it also soaks in quickly, so youre not left with that greasy hand feeling you get from some nail products. This hasnt completely cured my dry cuticles , but given that Ive been soaking my nails in acetone on the regular, theyre looking much better than Id have expected, and I do notice an improvement from before I started using this.

I do retail the start to finish polish though as this seems to appeal to clients i also retail the nail envy and the holland collection i have also just got the minnie mouse collection and they are selling really well. I have used opi nail envy products for quite a while and find that the opi nail envy matte is a solid choic. I moved to oz at the start of this year and just bought my first opi today. They are a lovely length now and are really strong!
At the weekend i painted my mums nails with leighton denny undercoat, colour and top coat. Opi nail envy is excellent! Base coat, top coat & strengthener in one.
Followed by one coat every other day. With halloween just days away, opi my gondola or yours? Now i’ve seen it all.

You all know by now how much I love nail paints. They are the most-used makeup items from my kitty. I change them every week and sometimes its more than once a week. And the shade doesnt depend on the trend or weather, but my mood. As much as I love well-painted nails, taking care of them is equally important so that the nail lacquer goes on smoothly and does not harm the health of my nails. Using a good base coat is equally important which helps nail lacquer to adhere to nails for a longer time and also prevents nails from staining too. I used base coat regularly too, but still my nails chip, break, and peel off! I have tried massaging them with olive oil, even argan oil, but these remedies take time to show some effect. I have pretty strong nails that grow out beautifully, except when I apply nail polish. Nail polish really seems to dry my nails out, and makes them become brittle, chip and peel. Now, some I dont seem to have an issue with, whereas others stain and dry out my nails. Not sure why, havent really done my research.

My Experience With Opi Natural Nail Strengthener:
OPI Natural Nail Strengthener comes in the standard OPI nail lacquer bottle. The cap is long and I like it as it makes holding the brush easier. The brush is broad and covers my nails in just two strokes. However, it might be an issue for girls with smaller nails, but I personally like it as it means less work for me.
The consistency of the product is just like any other nail lacquer. It is not very thick or thin, and goes on the nails easily. The bottle I have, has been in the use for around 5 months or so, and the consistency is still the same it has not become thick or goopy. I apply it every single time, before applying nail lacquer, and hardly 1/4th of the bottle has been used up because a single coat is good enough. It dries pretty quickly.
I have been using it from the past 4-5 months now and have seen a lot of difference in my nails. Prior to using this, my nails had become very thin and used to break on and off. I love long nails, but somehow, with regular breaking of nails, this was not achievable. But with regular usage, my nails have become stronger. They dont peel or flake and are not brittle anymore. There is no chipping or breaking either.

Great For Damaged Nails
I recently removed my acrylic nails. Of course my natural nails were extremely weak and thin due to the damage I allowed. I needed something to help strengthen them. I bought OPI Original Nail Envy Nail Strengthener. I works great for damaged nails!! It definately has strengthened my nails. They are still thin, but are much better than if I had nothing on them. I will continue to use OPI Original Nail Envy Nail Strengthener even after my nails have grown out and all of the damaged nails are grown out. I would recommend not gettig acrylic nails to begin with, but if you do OPI Original Nail Envy Nail Strengthener will greatly help repair and strengthen your nails if you do. In conclusion, Im glad I found OPI Original Nail Envy Nail Strengthener when I did.
