How To Care For Your Acrylics And Nails
“To care for your acrylics, make sure to not use then as tools like opening cans. You can also get a gel overlay to help them last longer. If you prefer, you can also use a regular top coat, and apply it every two to three days,” advises Lee. “Try to avoid water, so when you are doing the dishes, make sure to wear gloves.” We love the Sally Hansen Double Duty Base and Top Coat.
Since acrylics can weaken the natural nail over time, it’s never a bad idea to add a nail strengthener to your beauty routine, too.
Option #: Acetone Soak
One of the most common and foolproof ways to remove acrylic nails is to do an acetone soak. This is typically the same process thats used at salons. As for what it entails, exactly, simply follow the steps below.
What youll need: Nail clippers, nail file, acetone nail polish remover, petroleum jelly, cotton balls and aluminum foil.
How To Execute: Use a nail clipper to cut your acrylics as short as possible. The less nail you’re left to work with, the better! Then file and buff the tops of your nails to remove any nail polish that was applied on top of your acrylics. Prep your cuticles for your acetone soak by applying some petroleum jelly to cuticles and fingers. Next, saturate a cotton ball with acetone nail polish remover and place it on top of and around your nail. Then wrap the nail with a piece of aluminum foil and let the soaking begin. Repeat for each nail.
Let your aluminum foil nails be for about 20 minutes or so . Once time is up, gently lift the aluminum foil on one of your nails. If the acrylic doesn’t start to come off easily, leave your nails to soak for an additional five to ten minutes.

How Do You Get Curry Stains Out Of White Acrylic Nails
If you have a great looking set of white acrylic nails, it can be quite tempting to use them when you want to play up your nails and even do some painting for yourself.
This is something that a lot of people are doing, but there are a few things that you need to know if you are going to be able to make your nails look as good as possible when you are playing with them.
First of all, it is very important that you take the time to clean your nails, even if you have just brushed them. There are a lot of different products out there that will attack your nails with harsh chemicals, and this can really damage them and they will eventually start to lose their gloss and look kind of dull.
You should be cleaning your nails every single day, and there are a couple of different ways that you can do this.
The first thing that you can do to get the stains out of your white acrylic nails is to get them air dried. You should never let your nails air dry on their own because this can cause them to break down.
If you are going to let them air dry, you should put them in a nylon stocking then take them outside and let them air dry on a porch or somewhere like that. You should never let them dry on their own outdoors because you might have to come back inside and do it again.
You should also make sure that you take them to the store to get a good air drying product, but one that does not have any type of alcohol in it.

This method of removing acrylic nails is fairly simple, but you will need two people to do it. It is faster, but not recommended for those who suffer from peeling or brittle nails.
- In the first step, take the metal nail file and use it at the tip of the nail to lift it just enough to slip the dental floss underneath it.
- Wrap about 12 inches of dental floss around the index finger of each hand of the second person.
- Now slip the floss under the edge you created in step 1.
- Get the second person to gently pull towards the end of the nail bed in a sawing motion.
- The acrylic nail should pop right off.
The second method is obviously much quicker but may cause far more injury than the first method. But these are the best answers to how to remove acrylic nails at home, without visiting a nail salon.
