How To Remove Color Street Nails: Tips From A Color Street Independent Stylist

How To Remove Color Street Nail Polish in 60 Seconds!
  • Pin

I have been a Color Street Independent Stylist since they launched over two years ago. I absolutely love my Color Street nails! I love that they last so much longer than traditional nail polish and my customers do too! One of my most asked questions is how to remove Color Street nails. While these nail polish strips can be removed with nail polish remover, I wanted to share a few tips to make sure you remove your Color Street nails easily, while keeping your nails healthy.

Why Does Color Street Make My Nails Peel

Im going to stop you right here. Color Street does not make your nails peel, not specifically anyway. While this Color Street problem is in fact a headache, regular nail polish can have this effect as well. Its a matter of nail health rather than the type of nail polish youre using.

Nails are dead and therefore do not need to breathe, but if theyre consistently covered with nail polish and not given any breaks, the nails will start to weaken. Weak nails are prone to peeling, splitting, and breaking. Make sure to go naked for a couple days here and there. There are also physical health conditions that can weaken nails as well. If you have consistent problems with this, make sure to see a doctor. Its always better to treat the root of the problem than cover it with Band-Aids .

Using acetone nail polish remover is another sure fire way to get your nails to peel. Your nails need oil for health and strength. This may seem counterintuitive since we remove the oils prior to application, but using an incredibly stripping remover like acetone later only makes the Color Street problems worse. Slap on another layer of nail polish and your nails never have a chance to regain their nourishment

How Do I Apply Color Street Nails

Color Street offers Solid, Glitter, and French styles of nail polish strips, and the application methods vary. Well walk you through each one below so you can see how easy to use they really are.

Solids & Glitter:

  • Remove the clear cover on the individual strip youll be applying
  • Peel off the polish strip from the backing
  • Take the tab off at the end of the strip
  • Place on your nail, pressing down, and stretching forwards
  • Use a file to or your nail to remove the excess
  • French

  • Remove the clear cover
  • Peel off the tip strip from the backing
  • Put the tip on the tip of your nail and stretch it slightly so no wrinkles form
  • File off the excess strip from your nail
  • Apply a clear covering, if you wish
  • File off the excess
  • Theres no drying or waiting process involved, you can simply get dressed and run out the door!

I Only Wore Nail Polish For Special Occasions:

Like your wedding 8 years ago, or maybe it was your high school prom? If thats the case, then chances are you need to buy a new bottle of nail polish remover like one from this century. Older remover can lose its potency meaning it takes longer to work.

Once you have your remover, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

    1. Acetone is more effective in removing nail polish but can be hard on some peoples nails. If thats the case, consider mineral-based or other formulas.

    2. A tool or two can help with removal. Some Color Street fans prefer containers with little brushes in them, while others like the clips shown here. Regardless, these simple tools make removing Color Street as easy as it to apply!

    3. After you use the remover, wash your hands with soap and water to remove any residue, and then use a moisturizing nail cream.

    4. Lastly, I usually spend some time with naked nails before I apply my next set of Color Street! I file them a bit- a glass file is best. It gives me time to decide on my next set- so many choices!

Is Color Street Nails A Scam

Before we get into it, one assurance we can highly rely on if a company is scam or not, is if they are approved or accredited by the Direct Selling Association or DSA.

Color Street Nail and Direct Selling Authority

I guess theyre not? But does this mean that they arent a legit company?

They are a 100% legitimate and unique company that worked so hard to be where they are now! Their origin and beginnings are the one that attracts me the most, and of course their variations with strip-nail polish as well!

However, in terms of being a part of a multi-level industry, they have expensive products that is hard to sell and too competitive.

That is one of the reasons why is their low income potentials, but if you can build large sales team it is good.

And rest assured that they are not pyramid scheme too, because of their real products and not reliance on recruitment only, their commissions based on products sales.

Color Street Nail Strips Review: Do They Work

Now that my nails have become longer and healthier, Im finding joy in at-home manicures again. Ive only recently gotten on board with the whole nail wrap craze after my first ever successful attempt earlier this year. Now that Im not a beginner at the process, Im finally venturing into other brands in hopes of finding more ways to dress up my nails easily.

Recently, a pile of new designs of Color Street nail strips landed in my lap. These looked particularly interesting, and unique from other nail wraps Ive tried, as theyre made up entirely of actual nail polish theyre not just stickers. The strips are polish thats almost completely dry, but has enough flexibility to stretch a bit before setting completely.

Something to note: Color Street is a brand that is sold through independent representatives, but they also sell directly on their website if you dont live near a nail stylist or just dont want to deal with in-person sales.

Since the strips are made out of real nail polish, theyre thin and very delicate. It took a bit of time for me to get used to handling them, as Im used to a thicker plastic feel with the brand I previously used. Because they stretch easily, its also easy to tear them. I tore the first one I tried applying, because it got stuck to my finger and it ripped in half when trying to peel it off my skin. Also, theyre not as forgiving if you need to adjust mid-application, as peeling them off the nail can stretch them out too much.

Select The Correct Strips To Use

Color Street Nails comes with 16 different stickers in each package. So you have some sizing options to choose from. Choose the 10 stickers that fit your nails best.

If there isnt a sticker that perfectly fits the size of your nail, we recommend going a little smaller than larger. If the sticker is too large, it will likely not be able to stick to your nail completely since it will be touching the skin on the sides of the nail.

How To Remove Color Street Nails : These two methods ...

Color Street nail strips are 100% nail polish but I often get asked questions about how to remove Color Street. The simple answer? Use your favorite nail polish remover. The longer answer? Read on, friends.

    acetone vs. non acetone

Your mileage may vary, but I get the best results when I use an acetone based remover. My favorite is this one from Zoya. Recently, I was visiting my mom for the weekend and wanted to change my nail polish. I hadnt used any other remover in years and it made me appreciate how amazing Zoya Remove+ is! If you cant or dont want to use acetone, this one is a decent alternative. It wasnt my favorite but many others love it! It does work well, but please note that other non acetone removers may take a little bit time & more elbow grease because non acetone remover takes longer to break down nail polish.

Sometimes, glitter based designs can be a little stubborn. In that case, I use these clips with a round cotton pad . With just a little remover and a few minutes on my nails, the glitter polish wipes right off! Again, you can also use a non acetone remover with these clips but you may need to keep them on longer than 2-3 minutes.

This is one of the most commonly asked Paint Street Nail Polish Strips queries I have. Depending on what sort of “nail user” you are, here are a few things to remember

Nail strips from Color Street are 100 percent nail polish but I still get inquiries on how to clear Color Street. Only the answer? Choose the nail polish remover you need. Is the response lengthier? Look on, boys.

Tips For Nail Wraps At Home

With all of these, I found some tips that seem to help the application.

You can use both ends of the nail wrap

I would cut them in half vs trying to file/nail clip off the end.

You can re-stick a nail wrap

These are great, because if you get the wrap on your nail you can lift it up and try it again. So, if you dont get it centered, or you end up placing it diagonally, just lift up and try again.

Mistake #: Not Using A Rubber

If your first set of Color Street was a glitter, then you have experienced how foolproof and forgiving applying a Color Street manicure can be. If you have heard that applying Color Street solids is hard to do then Ill let you in on a little secret.

    Quick Fix:

You need one of these a rubber-tipped cuticle pusher. Sure, you can prep your nails by using it to push down your cuticles, but the real power of this simple little tool lies in its ability to cleanly yet gently press solid nail polish strips onto your fingers. If you have struggled to press out wrinkles be sure the nail strip makes it all the way to the edge, then try this simple tool to make it much easier.

Because Color Street nail strips are 100% nail polish, you dont need to file down your nails or anything in preparation to remove them. You just need a quality nail polish remover. My absolute favorite is Mineral Fusion nail polish remover.

It works like magic at taking nail polish off, especially Color Street nail strips. I put it to the ultimate test by removing a glitter color with the Clear as Day clear strips over it and it still came off like butter!

I love this nail polish remover because it is not only non-acetone, but it doesnt dry out your nails and cuticles either. It also smells really good! I like to buy my Mineral Fusion nail polish remover with the Subscribe and Save option on Amazon and have it come every 6 months, plus I save 15% by buying it that way. Its a win/win!
