Remove Fake Nails Using Acetone

Impress Nails Part 2 How to take off the Adhesive and Use Nail Glue

What Youll Need:

  • 1 small bowl
  • warm water

Note: It is recommended to use pure acetone for this. Acetone is a volatile chemical. Do not heat this over the fire or on the microwave because it is combustible.

Steps:

  • Pour the acetone into a bowl and on a larger bowl put in hot water.
  • After this, put the water level to about the same level as the acetone on the smaller bowl.
  • Then, place the smaller bowl inside the larger bowl to warm the liquid inside.
  • It will take a while but when it is warm, soak your nails for a few minutes using cotton rounds and check if the glue has loosened. Many times it will have done the job. Then it will be easy to take out the fake nails with a nail stick.
  • They Are Tough As Nails Literally

    This is a photo of my manicure after a week. They were still absolutely perfect and I like to bake and do DIYs. These suckers dont even chip. The only reason I removed this set was because I wanted a different color.

    How To Reuse Press

    Another great thing about press-on nails is that you can reuse them. I would recommend using the cuticle oil or non-acetone nail polish remover when you take them off if you plan to reuse, however, as acetone will eat away at the acrylic.

    Its also important to note that kits normally come with 20+ different nails. That means that even if you used half of the box, you can keep the rest of the nails to mix and match with other sets in the future.;

  • Apply your glue with how long you want your press-on nails to last. If youre hoping to switch up your nail look just for the weekend, Frank says to only use a couple of drops of glue; if you want your press-ons to last for a week or more, cover your entire nail in glue.
  • Opt for shorter nails. As fun as long coffin, stiletto, and almond-shaped nails are, the longer the length, the more likely theyll be to snag on something and accidentally pop off.;
  • Consider using a different glue than the one that comes in your kit. Some of the top-reviewed nail glues include KISS PowerFlex Max Speed Glue and Mia Secret Nail Glue .
  • Skip baths or just remember not to submerge your nails underwater. Since press-ons are designed to come off with just soap and water, letting them sit under soapy suds for long periods can shorten their wear.
